In Football Manager 2026, building the perfect squad goes beyond just scouting and signing players; instead, it's about mastering recruitment strategy.

By launching a new, more intelligent Recruitment Hub backed by real-world data partnerships and enhanced in-game features, Sports Interactive has changed the way transfers, scouting, and negotiations work.

Here's everything you need to know about the revamped recruitment experience in FM 26.

Recruitment in FM 26 has been reimagined with clarity and efficiency in mind. Features that were previously scattered across multiple menus are now concentrated in a single place, the brand-new Recruitment Hub. This hub has everything you need when it comes to recruitment, such as scouts, transfer activity, transfer history, squad planner, recruitment budget, and much more.

The Recruitment Objectives tile immediately shows what you're bored of and what fans expect from you in the market, allowing you to align your transfer strategy with the club vision. Additionally, Squad Depth insights are directly linked to the planner, highlighting weak spots and depth issues that need urgent attention.

Managing contracts has also become more straightforward. To make it easier for players to decide about selling, loaning, or renewing a player's contract, the Contract Overview tile showcases all existing contracts, their clauses, the player transfer value, and the contracts that are expiring in the next 12 months.

But that's not all, an option in the Recruitment hub sub-menu allows you to manage your staff, hiring or firing new staff members, giving you full control over your club's staff.

TransferRoom Integration 2.0

FM 26 expands its partnership with TransferRoom, the online transfer marketplace that professional teams use in real life. After the addition of the ability to sell players in FM 24, the latest version adds two significant tools to the integration: Requirements and Pitch Opportunities.

Requirements: Express What You Need

Requirements allow you to tell the footballing world exactly what kind of player you are looking for. You can specify:

  • Position and tactical role (in/out of possession)
  • Expected playing time (Star Player to Backup)
  • Transfer type (permanent, loan, free)
  • Desired age range

Once your advertisement is posted, other clubs will be able to respond with players to fit your requirements. Your Director of Football then filters suggestions, allowing you to scout or negotiate directly. This effectively streamlines the recruitment process and makes it more realistic than ever.

Pitch Opportunities: Find Buyers Faster

Pitch Opportunities work as the mirror opposite of requirements. You will be able to browse what other clubs in your game world are looking for and pitch players from your own squad that fit their requirements. You'll be able to:

  • Filter by transfer or loan deals
  • Track all outgoing offers in the Pitch Activity Tab
  • Respond directly to interested clubs

By increasing player sales' speed and transparency, this new approach will offer you far more control over outgoing without relying solely on random offers.

Smarter Scouting and AI Recruitment

Scouting has also been made sharper and more adaptable. With the use of a new color-coded system that keeps track of your active scouting priorities, you will now be able to refine your recruitment focuses using in- and out-of-possession responsibilities.

Your backroom team is also more intelligent, and they will let you know how a possible new signing will fit in your system and playing style, helping you recruit the perfect players for your system, making it easier for you to play the brand of football you desire.

Under the hood, FM 26 includes several AI and realism improvements:

  • AI clubs build squads more logically and align signings with their tactical identity.
  • Financial Fair Play (FFP) has a deeper impact on AI spending.
  • Clubs are becoming more intelligent when it comes to recalling loan players.
  • New transfer clauses for individual player rewards add realism to negotiations.
  • Loan deals can now include future fees and buyback options.

The FM 26 Recruitment Hub isn't just a UI overhaul; instead, it's a full system rethink that can mirror how modern football clubs operate. With better tools, clearer data, and more realistic AI behavior, managing transfers now feels more dynamic and lifelike than ever.
