If you find yourself leading the line in FIFA 23 Pro Clubs goals will be expected of you.
There are two main meta builds for successful strikers and we will take you through each individually.
The best builds mean getting the right height, weight, attributes, archetypes and perks, as we will show you below.
NOTE: These player builds are based on what worked in FIFA 22, and will be updated accordingly when FIFA 23 is released.
Pace Merchant
- Base Position: ST
Pace has always been one of the most important attributes in FIFA, and that will be no different in FIFA 23.
This is one of the most used builds in Pro Clubs, as it lets you create one of the fastest players you can get in the game mode.
When using this build you should look to use your speed to make runs in behind as often as possible, which can be devastating against a high line.
Another top tactic is playing with a front three that also has fast wingers, sending long balls up the line, and racing the defenders into the box, usually resulting in an easy tap-in from a low-driven cross.
Size
- Height: 5'3" - 5'4"
- Weight: 99lbs - 119lbs
Choosing these options will get your pro to the fastest they can be and they should also be pretty nimble.
This comes at the cost of having low Strength and Shot Power.
Attributes
As it is so vital to the way this build plays, Pace will be the first place you start improving on your Virtual Pro.
You don't need to max this out straight away, but eventually, that will be your goal.
The next place to improve will depend on how you feel your Virtual Pro is performing but will either involve upgrading Dribbling or Shooting attributes.
Your player should already have decent Agility, but using skill points on this and Balance will make them feel great to play with, and improve your ability to weave past defenders.
If you find yourself with any additional skill points left over, look to use them in areas that will improve your Stamina, allowing you to run at full pelt for as long as possible.
Archetypes
The archetypes you are aiming to give this build are:
- Cheetah
- Finisher
- Maestro
- Lynx
The Cheetah is your main goal, then - being a striker - the Finisher archetype may be the best to aim for, but again, this comes down to personal preference.
Perks
The best Perks to assign to your striker build are:
- Distance Shooter - Obviously grants better long shots, but also gives Finesse Shot, Outside Foot Shot and 5-star weak foot ability
- Active First Touch - Better ball control, acceleration and sprint speed
- One Time Shot - Gives Finesse Shot, Flair, Outside Foot Shot, Power Header and increases weak foot ability
- Skilled Dribbler - Increases dribbling and skill moves, and gives Flair trait
- Tireless Runner - Grants Second Wind and Solid Player traits
- Poacher - Increases your all-round finishing (including boosts to Volleys, Finishing, and Heading Accuracy) when inside the box
Target Man
- Base Position: ST
Acting as an anti-meta build, this target man option has seen plenty of success in Pro Clubs.
As most players go for smaller, quicker Virtual Pros, the idea is to create a beast up top that will dominate all physical and aerial battles.
Set-pieces are your domain, and unless the opposition also went for a similar build, you should always be winning the first header.
Using long balls is also a very effective way to play with this pro, as they will always be the favourite to win them, cutting out the opposition's midfield and then bringing into play other teammates to attack directly.
Size
- Height: 6'6" or 6'7"
- Weight: 99lbs - 119lbs or 227lbs - 253lbs
Choosing these options will give you the biggest pro around, and you can either opt for a lighter-weight one (with the benefits of slightly increased Pace and Agility) or a heavier one (with better Strength and Shot Power).
Being taller comes at the cost of having lower Pace and Agility, however, this can be rectified when picking attributes.
Attributes
As we've already said, Pace is a vital attribute, and even as a target man it should be one of the first areas you improve.
You should also look to give your Strength a boost too, allowing you to battle it out with even the most physical of defenders.
Your Ball Control and Dribbling stats are fairly decent, but improving your Agility even slightly will make this build feel much better to use in-game.
Then look to add all your points into Shooting stats - you are a striker after all!
You may be tempted to improve your Heading Accuracy, however, this can only be done by first improving your FK Accuracy & Shot Power or Penalties & Shot Power, so we would recommend saving this until last.
Archetypes
The archetypes you are aiming to give this build are:
- Cheetah
- Bull
- Finisher
- Lynx
Again, it comes down to personal preference in what order you try to achieve this, and it may be worth going for the Bull first, then Finisher and Cheetah, with the Lynx a nice alternative.
Perks
The best Perks to assign to your striker build are:
- Physical Strength - Gives boosted strength, ball control, and jumping when jostling, shielding, or heading the ball
- Distance Shooter - Obviously grants better long shots, but also gives Finesse Shot, Outside Foot Shot and 5-star weak foot ability
- Active First Touch - Better ball control, acceleration and sprint speed
- One Time Shot - Gives Finesse Shot, Flair, Outside Foot Shot, Power Header and increases weak foot ability
- Skilled Dribbler - Increases dribbling and skill moves, and gives Flair trait
- Tireless Runner - Grants Second Wind and Solid Player traits
- Poacher - Increases your all-round finishing (including boosts to Volleys, Finishing, and Heading Accuracy) when inside the box
