Chemistry is an absolutely INTEGRAL component of FIFA 22 Ultimate Team.
So, if you are unsure of how Chemistry works in FUT 22, you've come to the right place.
Take a look at how the stat boosts, links and loyalty bonuses work below.
What is Chemistry in FUT 22?
In simple terms, the FIFA 22 Chemistry rating lets you know how well a player will perform on the pitch.
The Chemistry rating for each player is based on what position they’re playing, who they link to, the loyalty bonus and the potential manager bonus.
The maximum Chemistry for any team is FUT 22 100, with each player having a rating out of 10.
The more Chemistry a player has, the higher the boosts to their stats they will receive.
How do player links work?
When it comes to links, there are several factors that impact a player’s chemistry, including their league, club, nationality, and position.
Once a player is in the correct position, Chemistry comes from their links to other players in the team.
Different formations have different links between players, so you'll need to choose the best one to get the most Chemistry from your cards.
Strong Links
Strong links, which are shown as Green on the team sheet, are great for Chemistry and in many cases can provide players with full Chemistry with just one link!
Strong links are achieved by linking two players who share any two of the following attributes:
- Club
- League
- Nation
Soft Links
Soft links, which are shown as Orange on the team sheet, only grant a small amount of Chemistry but can be topped up by links from other players.
Soft links are achieved by linking two players who share one of the following attributes:
- Club
- League
- Nation
Dead Links
Dead links, which are shown as Red on the team sheet, are between players that share no common factors and will offer no chemistry bonus to each other.
However, maximum chemistry can still be achieved if strong or perfect links are achieved elsewhere.
Perfect links
Perfect links are rare, but they can be the secret to completing your hybrid squad!
A perfect link is achieved by linking two players who play for the same team AND are from the same nation.
An example would be Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka, who are both English and play for Arsenal.
Manager links explained
Choosing the right manager is also key to getting Chemistry in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team.
Managers from the same league or nation can provide a +1 Chemistry boost to any member of the starting XI.
You can also purchase Manager League consumables on the transfer market, which allows you to change the league your manager grants Chemistry to.
How does loyalty work?
When a player has loyalty, they will receive an additional +1 bonus to their Chemistry rating.
Loyalty is awarded to any player in your club who has played 10 matches, either in the starting XI or off the bench.
Plus, every pack pulled player will automatically come with the loyalty bonus.
Chemistry Styles explained
The higher a player’s Chemistry rating, the more significant the boost they receive to their in-game stats.
With Chemistry Styles, you can focus the stat boosts on the specific stats, where you think the particular player needs improving.
For example, you could take a player with a low pace rating and apply a Hunter Chemistry style, in order to provide a maximum pace boost to that individual.
