Battlefield 2042 Roadmap: Update #2, Season One, & More Content

EA DICE has released another great Battlefield title in Battlefield 2042 - however, it hasn't been the smoothest launch. It's far from a bad game, but the troubled development is clear in the end product. Thankfully, Battlefield 2042 is a Live Service game and there are a lot of updates planned for the next few months. Here's a look at the current Battlefield 2042 roadmap and what to expect going forwards.

UPDATE #2 - What's going to be changing?

We might not have a full set of Patch Notes, but it looks like Title Update #2 is going to be dropping a little earlier than originally thought - on November 25th.

As you can see in the tweet below, which takes a chunk of information from Battlefield 2042's official communications, we should see the following changes made in the next update:

  • Soldier Revives - Improvements and fixes;
  • Respawn Protection - Help prevent any issues about being down for too long;
  • UAV-1 - Changes have been made and it will now be available in Portal again;
  • Vehicle Balancing - LCAA Hovercraft and MD540 Nightbird;
  • Dispersion - Reduced for all weapons, bar shotguns;

The full Update Notes are going to be available later today - November 24th. Keep your eyes peeled.

BATTLEFIELD 2042 CONTENT - Here's what you need to keep an eye out for

Battlefield 2042 is due to get at least two major title updates within thirty days of launch and Season One is expected to start not long after. We don't know the exact times, but here's the timeline of events we're looking at so far...

  • Title Update #2
    • Around November 29th* - Post-launch bug fixes and stability updates;
  • Title Update #3
    • Around December 7th - Further fixes and Quality of Life improvements;
  • Season One Update
    • At some point in Early 2022 - New Specialists, Maps, Battle Pass features, and more

*Confirmed for November 25th release.

Tom Henderson, a reliable leaker, has stated that Battlefield 2042 is due a "Day 10 Patch" and a "Day 25 Patch" - with the latter being focused around additional post-launch content. So... It's worth keeping an eye out for. The Day One Launch patch did make an impact on the game's performance. However, there's still a little way to go before the game is as polished as we'd hoped it would be.

In addition to this, the Season One update is coming in 2022 - and EA DICE hasn't shared any details about it. They won't share any details about it until Early 2022, either, which doesn't bode well.

We could see this Preseason period last as long as a traditional season, meaning we're looking at Season One of Battlefield 2042 content arriving late February.
