One of World of Warcraft's iconic expansions, Wrath of the Lich King, had its Classic version announced during the month of April, and not only did it touch every WoW fan's nostalgia buttons but it also brought forth tons of hype.
Like WoW Classic and Burning Crusade Classic, players of the popular MMORPG will get to experience a blast from the past, this includes all of the features that were introduced into the game such as Death Knights, Northrend, and more.
However, as always, before players can officially take the battle to Arthas, the Lich King, they first can get a taste of what's to come—or return in this case—to the game via its Beta.
Here's everything you need to know about the Wrath of the Lich King Beta, including its start date, how to sign up, and more.
WotLK Beta Start Date
Even though WotLK Classic doesn't have an official release date, players can go begin their WotLK adventures early via the Beta which began on June 22, 2022.
For players who've received an invite or have "Wrath of the Lich King (Classic Beta) Installation" pop up on their Battle.net launcher, the beta is available now.

How to Sign Up for the WotLK Beta
If you want to take part in the WoTLK Beta, you'll need to request access. This is possible now via the World of Warcraft Classic website.
All you need to do is click on the "Beta Opt-In" button and it'll direct you to the bottom of the website, where you'll click again.
Once that's done a "Thanks for signing up" message will appear in green words, confirming that you've opted into the WoW WoTLK Beta.
What to Expect from the WoTLK Beta
As mentioned before, players can expect the WoTLK Beta to have the same bells and whistles as its original 2008 release. However, due to it being a Beta, there's a possibility that Blizzard limit some of the content that is expected to release later on.
Prior to releasing the Beta, Blizzard announced via a Developer Update a new Group Finder UI and that it will be fully implemented on day 1 of the Beta. This new UI is set to reinforce the idea behind the developers' removal of the Dungeon Finder Tool, as they look to update the group forming tools to keep the social aspect of the game intact.
Additionally, some of the ideas revealed during the Developer Update that might appear in the Beta are their changes for Emblems and items, making them valuable for a longer period of time, increase of the damage and health of monsters in Naxxaramas, the addition of Heroic challenges and more.
