Are Blizzard pre-loading the update?

The Shadowlands Weekly Reset is due to take place at the following times over the next couple of days - could we see Blizzard pre-load the Phase 2 update for WoW Classic TBC during this?

There might be a chance they could avoid Server Downtime altogether... Although, that's only if we're lucky. We wouldn't count on it. The Shadowlands Weekly Reset is due to take place as follows:

  • US, Latin, Oceanic
    • Tuesday 14th September
      • 08:00 PST
      • 11:00 EST
      • 16:00 BST
  • European
    • Wednesday 15th September
      • 00:00 PST
      • 03:00 EST
      • 08:00 BST

Server Downtime

While we know WoW Classic TBC Phase 2 will bring some significant server downtime, Blizzard still haven't released an official schedule for this.

THE WAITING GAME: Servers will inevitably go down for Phase 2 content

Since we do know the update is scheduled to go live Wednesday, this could either mean Blizzard will load in all of the new content during Tuesday maintenance and wait to push it live at release time, or take servers down again on Wednesday for an unspecified amount of time.

We've seen some server delays in the past for updates like this - and we wouldn't expect anything less with WoW Classic TBC Phase 2. Whether that server downtime lands on Tuesday or Wednesday remains to be seen, but expect servers to be down for 3 to 4 hours before content is live.

As it stands, we predict that downtime to land from 7am EST to 11am EST on Wednesday.
