New images have emerged of a Nike Dunk Low inspired by the annual Setsubun festival in Japan, leaving many sneaker fans curious as to when we might see a release date announced by Nike.

The Setsubun festival, also known as the 'bean-throwing' festival, begins just before spring starts in the old Japanese calendar. Participants throw handfuls of dry soybeans out their doors to scare away any demons and evil spirits for a year of good fortune.

Unorthodox and festival-themed topics like this are not uncommon among Nike Dunk releases. For example, alongside the "Setsubun" colourway, Nike is dropping Cherry-themed, Berlin-inspired, and St. Patrick's Day Dunk's throughout 2022 as well.

While there is plenty to look forward to over the coming months, we're focusing solely on the "Setsubun" release in this article. So, without further delay, we'll start by covering the release date.

When Is The Nike Dunk Low Setsubun Release Date?

At this moment in time, not a great deal is known about the release of the "Setsubun" Dunk Low's, which may be unsurprising given Nike is yet to release official images of the sneakers.

Most reports state that they're debut at some point in 2022, but there's currently no information available that pinpoints exactly when.

It's also rumoured that these sneakers could be Japanese-exclusive, although this is yet to be confirmed by the brand.

With so much speculation still surrounding these Dunk's, we'd recommend checking back in with us to find out more as we'll be keeping this article updated with the latest news as and when it arrives.

Nike Dunk Low Setsubun Design

Neutral shades of brown dominate these sneakers to mimic the colour of the dried soybeans.

Specifically, the sneakers come with a cream base covering the toe boxes and quarters, while dark brown overlays dress the mudguards and ankles as a taupe tone adorns the eyestays.

By complete contrast, you then get a rich purple accenting the Swooshes, inner linings, and the embroidered image at the back of the heels.

Upon closer inspection, the image is in fact a representation of Tsuno Daishi, 'The Great Horned Master'.

If you then look inside the shoes, you'll find a graphic designed by Utagawa Kuniyoshi that depicts Sakata Kintoki throwing beans at a fleeing demon to further capture the festival's theme.

Nike Dunk Low Setsubun Price

Without an official listing, it's hard to know exactly how much the Setsubun-inspired colourway will cost.

However, according to @yankeekicks, the retail price for a men's pair will be $110 which is most likely based on previous Dunk Low releases. Having said that, the price is seemingly unconfirmed at this stage, so make sure you stay tuned to find out more right here.

Where To Buy Nike Dunk Low Setsubun

We believe one of the first places you'll likely find a listing for these special-edition Dunk Lows is at the Nike store under the new releases or the Dunk sneakers subsection.

We'd also recommend signing up for the push notifications once a listing goes live on Nike's SNKRS page so you're completely prepared for their upcoming arrival.
