Super Smash Bros Ultimate Next Fighter Is A Final Fantasy Villain

During The Game Awards last night, the next fighter as part of Super Smash Bros Ultimate's Fighters Pass Vol. 2 was announced.

The new fighter is a classic villain from the Final Fantasy universe.

A New Foe Has Appeared

It was revealed that Sephiroth, the main villain in 1997's Final Fantasy VII.

Since FF7 was released, Sephiroth has remained a fan favourite and it is surprising it has taken this long for him to be added, especially considering Cloud is already a fighter in the series.

The One Winged Angel joins Steve from Minecraft and Min Min from Nintendo's ARMS as the latest fighter in the Fighter Pass Vol. 2.

The first Fighters Pass included Joker from the Persona 5, Hero from Dragon Quest XI, Benjo Kazooie, Terry from King Of Fighters, and Byleth from Fire Emblem.

There are still three more fighters to be announced for the current Fighters Pass Vol. 2.

Future Fighters

Fans have often speculated as to who is going to be included next, most of the time they are wrong.

Many names are often touted as the next fighters to join the game.

These include Crash Bandicoot, Rayman, Jonesy from Fortnite, Shantae, and Dante from Devil May Cry.

Whether any of these names show up only time will tell, but it is rare that a fan guesses the next fighter correctly.

Although it would be really cool to see Jonesy in Smash Bros.
