Pokemon Unite is getting a Battle Pass system and here's how it works

Nintendo's attempt at a Pokemon MOBA is almost here and we're here to talk about one of the most controversial features the game boasts. Pokemon Unite is getting a Battle Pass system, for better or worse, and here's what you need to know about it.

When Does The Battle Pass System Unlock?

You won't be able to start progressing Pokemon Unite's inaugural Battle Pass as soon as you jump into it. You'll need to be Trainer Level 7 before the Battle Pass system unlocks.

Following this, there's going to be an optional Premium Pass that will cost you an unspecified amount of Aeos Gems, the premium currency in Pokemon Unite. We can imagine that this will equate to something similar to the industry standard.

When you purchase the Premium Pass, you will "receive more rewards than usual when you increase your Battle Pass level". Premium Pass Plus is also available at an increased price; This is going to automatically level your Battle Pass up to Level 10.

As always, these are seasonal unlocks. The rewards you get will be permanent, but you'll need to re-buy the Premium Pass in the next season to continue enjoying the benefits it offers.

How To Level Up The Battle Pass?

There are three ways you can earn progress for the Pokemon Unite Battle Pass: Daily Missions, Weekly Missions, and Seasonal Missions.

As you can imagine, we don't know exactly what these entail just yet but we do know how often each of these resets. It looks like, if you time it right, you could blitz through these Missions easily.

Daily Missions reset at the following time every day:

  • 09:00 PST / 12:00 EST / 17:00 BST

Weekly Missions reset at the following time every Monday:

  • 09:00 PST / 12:00 EST / 17:00 BST

Season Missions will be available and reset at the start of every season.

If you've completed a challenge, you will be able to claim the previous day's (or week's) mission rewards if they are left unclaimed when the Missions' reset. However, for Daily Missions, this will only last 24 hours.

In addition to this, when you complete the current Pokemon Unite Battle Pass and earn a certain number of Battle Pass points past this max level, you will be rewarded a Battle Pass Prize Box. We currently don't know what this will contain.
