NHL 22 Update 1.6 Patch Notes for March 30
If you're a New York Islanders fan that's been pining to see UBS Arena in NHL 22, the wait is finally over with NHL 22 Update 1.6.
This marks their second update in the month of March, with NHL 22 Update 1.5 landing on March 3 with new uniforms and bug fixes for World of Chel.
This time, the highlight definitely goes to the freshly built UBS Arena which will now be playable in NHL 22 for the first time.
We don't yet know the update download size as it hasn't yet deployed and is scheduled to do so between 1pm and 2pm ET on March 30, 2022.
Here are the full NHL 22 Update 1.6 Patch Notes:
- Added UBS Arena, home of the New York Islanders into the game
- Fixed multiple cases where the puck was accelerating off the boards at unrealistic speeds and angles
- Fixed the Nashville Predators Stadium Series uniforms to have white numbers on the back of their uniforms
The upgrade to the Nashville Predators Stadium Series uniforms is a great attention to detail fix, but they've also slipped a significant bug fix in with this.
The puck accelerating in unpredictable and unrealistic may not have been the most common bug, but surely an infuriating one at times for players that had to deal with it.
Fortunately, the issue should be resolved when NHL 22 Update 1.6 deploys on all platforms.
UBS Arena makes its debut in EA Sports NHL
NHL 22 Update 1.6 marks the first time the newly built UBS Arena will be available in the EA Sports NHL franchise.
Previously, the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum (or simply Nassau Coliseum) had been the home of the Islanders between 1972 and 2015.
After a renovation to the Nassau Coliseum was completed in 2017, the New York Islanders chose to use a mix of the upgraded venue and the Barclays Center in Brooklyn which had been their home for two years.
Between 2018 and 2020, they split games between Barclays and Nassau, but the brand-new UBS Arena was finally completed in November of 2021.
As NHL 22 had already been released, it's taken them some time to get things update, but Islanders fans will finally be able to enjoy the arena and hit the virtual ice.
