Latest - NBA 2K22 teaser trailer released
In addition to all of the other major news today, we've also gotten an official teaser trailer!
While we didn't get to see any gameplay, this is our first glimpse of what we can expect from NBA 2K22 and things are just getting more exciting from here!
NBA 2K22 reveals Luka Doncic as cover athlete and 75th Anniversary Edition trio
Arguably the biggest news of the day is that 22-year-old Slovenian star Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks is the Standard Edition cover athlete for NBA 2K22.
Doncic has also gotten an additional cover design where he is featured on the Cross-Gen Digital Bundle, which specifically provides the Standard Edition to players on both current gen and next gen consoles (either PS4 & PS5 or Xbox One & Xbox Series X|S).
In celebration of the NBA's founding, the special version of NBA 2K22 is the 75th Anniversary Edition, and it features three legendary big men in Dirk Nowitzki, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Kevin Durant.
These three breathtaking art pieces were all painted by Atlanta-based artist Charly Palmer, who is most well known for having his work featured on the cover of TIME Magazine in July of 2020.
We also learned that WNBA Champion and the Chicago Sky's own Candace Parker will be the first female cover athlete in series history, as she's receiving an exclusive special version of the Standard Edition available only in North America through GameStop and EB Games.
Meanwhile, Washington Wizards star Rui Hachimura, who was the first Japanese player to be drafted in the first round back in 2019 and the first Japanese player to reach the playoffs, is getting a special Standard Edition cover available only in Japan.
