We may only be a day away from the start of E3 2021, but there's going to be some fantastic news dropping today! The Summer Game Fest is due to start later today and we have everything you need to know about the event below.
LATEST - 30 Minute Pre-Show Confirmed?
We've been under the impression that the Summer Game Fest is going to start at 10:00 PST / 13:30 EST / 18:30 BST on June 10th; However, it looks like the show is actually going to start half an hour later!
The official Summer Game Fest Twitter account has updated the "Kickoff Live!" start times and it seemingly confirms that there's going to be a bit of a pre-show.
As you can see below, the Summer Game Fest "Kickoff Live!" is due to begin at 11:00 PST / 14:00 EST / 19:00 BST now.
Summer Game Fest Start Date
Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest is a Summer-long event, as the name suggests, and there's going to be a few events like the IGN Expo on June 11th that crossover with E3 2021.
However, there is a specific start date and time we can talk about. The "Kickoff Live!" stream that does exactly what it says on the tin, kicking everything off, is due to start at 13:30 EST / 18:30 BST on June 10th.
This is going to feature "more than a dozen" world premieres and updates from a number of developers and publishers. There's also going to be a show from Weezer, for some reason. We're not complaining, but it is a little odd. It adds a level of legitimacy to the event though, which is what we imagine Keighley was going for.
How To Watch Everything?
As always, there's going to be one place to watch the Summer Game Fest "Kickoff Live!" stream and that's on YouTube. In a similar fashion to Fortnite's Season 7 Story Trailer or the Battlefield 2042 reveal stream, there's already a YouTube video waiting to broadcast the event.
All you need to do is check out the embedded video below and wait until everything starts!
The Kickoff Live! stream is expected to last around two hours, so make sure you're freeing up your evening/afternoon for this one.
What Are We Expecting?
At the moment, like any stream with "world premieres", we're not exactly sure what to expect. The Summer Game Fest DID share a list of 2021 Partners with the world though and it's shaping up to be a good event.
The only issue is, a lot of the Summer Game Fest crosses over with E3 2021. There's no telling which of these developers is going to show up at the June 10th "Kickoff Live!" and who is going to be showing up throughout E3 2021's numerous showcases.
