Pre-Loads Now Available

Players can begin pre-loading the game now, meaning that the game will be playable immediately when it goes live on April 30th, rather than having to wait until release date before starting to download it.

This will allow gamers to jump immediately into this brand new sci-fi universe and experience the unique mechanics that are in the game, such as the mechanic where after every death the world would change, as well as enemies and item placements.

Game Size Confirmed

It has been revealed that Returnal will take up 56.101 GB, so a pretty large game but we can only expect more games to take up a similar size and more as we head into the next generation, due to games being larger is scale, improved visuals, and other elements such as ray tracing.

Returnal will also run at 60 frames per second at up to 4K resolution, so the experience should be smooth for PS5 owners.

Release Date

Returnal launches worldwide on Friday, April 30th exclusively on PlayStation 5.

It appears that the game will be bypassing the PS4 due to the visual quality and utilization of DualSense features, such as 3D audio, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback.
