Dying Light 2 is reported to be a huge game with over 500 hours of gameplay in it. Needless to say, you may need to take some breaks every now and then. If you're looking to save the game, here's how to do so in Dying Light 2.
How to save in Dying Light 2
Like the first game, there isn't really a direct way of saving in Dying Light 2. You have to rely on autosave to keep your game up to date. Fortunately, it happens very frequently.
Even if you never really bother to check when things have been saved, you will rarely lose more than a few items or minutes of gameplay. Though it may drive a little anxiety in older gamers, you can rely on Dying Light 2 to keep you up to date.
How does autosave work
If you really can't turn off the game without checking if it has been saved, there are few ways of getting the game to save. Perhaps the best way of doing so is going to sleep. This will fast forward the game and allow you to turn it off.
If you're in the middle of a quest and need to go, finishing it out will save the game too. Luckily, with impressive SSDs, if you play the game on Xbox Series X or PS5, you can more or less shut the console down at any point and just boot it up when you're ready.
If you're playing off a PC or last-gen hardware, make sure to do some event in the game before you go. There's a chance this could change post-launch but it seems unlikely at this point. As modern consoles and hardware continue to get more impressive, manual saves are getting less and less common, leaving us with this current save system.
