Madden 23 Ultimate Team Beginner's Guide: How to get started in MUT

Now that we're able to play the game, we decided to go over the Madden 23 Ultimate Team game mode for beginners.

The game kicks off by offering MUT 23 players chances to earn rewards and build their lineup right from the beginning.

Let's take a look at how you can get started quickly in the first season of MUT.

How to get started in MUT 23

The first thing you're going to do when you log into Madden 23 Ultimate Team is the Start Your Ultimate Team Challenge.

There's only one goal in this challenge and that's to unlock your starter team. From there, you can complete challenges to earn the 83 OVR Joe Burrow.

These MUT 23 challenges will also help you level up in the first Season of Madden 23 Ultimate Team.

Here are a few tasks you'll need to complete:

  • Finish The Drive:
    • Complete your first drive in MUT 23
  • Air It Out:
    • Complete three passes in the first quarter
  • Move The Chains:
    • Gain 10+ yards on this drive

As you increase your Field Pass level, you'll earn more rewards, including the John Madden coaching item.

How to find Unopened Packs

As you're working through the Madden 23 Ultimate Team UI, you might get a little lost on where everything is located.

To find all of your unopened packs, head to the MUT 23 Marketplace and you'll find the unopened packs located in the bottom corner. If you're looking to grab some free packs, you can do so through the Skills Trainer.

We'd advise against purchasing packs too quickly, especially since there are going to be several Madden 23 Ultimate Team updates in the future.

There's also ways to earn new items just by completing challenges, making it much easier for No Money Spent (NMS) players.

Season 1 Field Pass Madden 23 Ultimate Team

Field Pass is a new mechanic that will see players level up and earn rewards, this makes it very easy to track and you know which rewards you'll get.

There are already several challenges available that you can use to start leveling up in Madden 23 Ultimate Team, the Season will last 60 days, so keep that in mind.

FIELD PASS: Complete tasks and earn rewards all at the same time

The Season area of Field Pass in MUT 23 is specific to the season you're in. For example, here are a few tasks that players can complete in Madden 23 Ultimate Team Season 1:

  • Score 25 touchdowns in any mode
  • Score 50 touchdowns in any mode
  • Score 100 touchdowns in any mode
  • Score 250 touchdowns in any mode
  • Score 75 points in any mode

The good news is regardless of whether you compete in the competitive mode or single-player, you'll level up through your Madden 23 Ultimate Team Field Pass.
