Genshin Impact: How to Get to Sumeru & First Things to do in the Dendro Nation

The wait is finally over! Sumeru, the new region in Genshin Impact, has arrived and is full of surprises and riches for those travelers that wander inside the enigmatic Rainforest.

With so much new content, it is natural to feel overwhelmed. Therefore, we have designed a guide with essential things to do on your first day in Sumeru, and how you can reach the Dendro Nation and Avydia Forest.

Sumeru Location: How to Get to Sumeru in Genshin Impact

Unlike the Inazuma region, which was closed to outsiders and protected by a thunderstorm, we don't need to sneak into Sumeru.

The map of the Dendro Nation is open and can be reached by different routes. However, the straightforward way is entering by a tunnel in The Chasm.

Players will find a new teleport waypoint on the map on the Cinnabar Cliff. Near the area, there is a recently made hole and a little Seelie that will guide you directly to a Statue of the Seven.

First Things to do in Sumeru

Although Collei is available for free in Graven of Innocence, we recommend completing the Archon Quest before entering the main event.

With that, here are the first things you should do in Sumeru in Genshin Impact 3.0.

Unlock the Dendro Traveler

Instead of having Collei as your first Dendro Character, before continuing with the archon story, reach the Statue of the Seven using the traveler and get the Dendro Resonance.

Start Farming new Artifacts

After meeting Collei and Tighnari, players will explore the Gandharva Ville. By this point, you may have Resin waiting to be spent, so we recommend making a detour to the Domain Spire of Solitary Enlightenment.

The Domain is accessible from this point, and travelers need only to climb the forest in the direction of the Cinnabar Cliff. The Domain is marked on the map, and the door is available without completing any quest.

Spire of Solitary Enlightenment has two new artifact sets. Deepwood Memories is necessary for Dendro DMG and the Gilded Dreams will be suitable for most of the characters, so your Resin will be well invested here early on.

Buy some Supplies

Between missions, visit some of the NPC in Gandharva Village. Some will give you free local specialties. And Ashpazi, the Master Chef, is someone you definitely shouldn't skip.

Genshin Impact NPC Ashpazi have very useful items in his shop

After talking with him, we will have access to his shop, and we can purchase our first Sumeru Dishes, but more importantly, we'll have access to:

  • Spice - Ingredient necessary for cooking most Sumeru Dishes.
    • Ten available pieces are sold for 540 Mora each
  • Rukkhashava Mushrooms - Sumeru Specialty that is Ascension Material for Collei
    • Ten available pieces are sold for 1000 Mora each

Start collecting Nilotpala Lotus

The Nilotpala Lotus is an important flower to seek out, and you will find some of these Lotus by following Tighnari (who seeks to make a medicine for Collei), but we recommend staying in the area or returning later to collect even more flowers.

The Niloptala Lotus can be found on water bodies. The river between Chinvat Ravine and Gandharva Ville is an excellent place to farm them. Niloptala Lotus are ascension material for Tighnari.

Reaching Sumeru City

Just some hours after, we will explore Sumeru City. Here, there are many things to see but we recommend focusing on completing the Archon Quest.

With that, you can move to Port Ormos and get Collei for free before even starting with the main event!
