Genshin Impact has taken the world by storm since it was released in September.
So far the game has generated over $100 million in revenue.
The game has a strong focus on accessibility, taking inspiration from games such as Fortnite.
It is fully cross-platform, allowing up to 4 player co-op with friends on PC, PS4, iOS, and Android.
Can You Run It?
Overall the spec requirements for the game are very reasonable.
Due to the art style, utilising a more anime style rather than focusing on realism, it isn't very demanding and most average PCs could run it.
Here are the recommended and minimum specs for the game:
Recommended configuration:
- OS – Windows 7 SP1 64 bit, Windows 8.1 64 bit, or Windows 10 64 bit
- Processor – Intel Core i7 equivalent (AMD Ryzen 7) or better
- Memory – 16GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB and better
- DirectX Version 11
- Storage – 30GB hard drive space
Minimum Configuration
- OS – Windows 7 SP1 64 bit, Windows 8.1 64 bit, or Windows 10 64 bit
- Processor – Intel Core i5 equivalent (AMD Ryzen 5) or better
- Memory – 8GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 and better
- DirectX Version 11
- Storage – 30GB hard drive space
It seems odd that they would recommend a Ryzen 5, such as a 2600 or 3600, with a GT 1030.
The GT 1030 isn't associated with anything more than low quality gaming, often used as a display GPU.
Any i5 which is quad core or more should be more than sufficient to play the game at an acceptable level.
The GTX 1060 6GB is the most popular GPU according to Steam stats, so most gamers should have that or better in their rigs.
But even lesser GPUs, should as the 1050Ti should be sufficient for the game.
1.1 Update
The 1.1 update will launch on November 11th and will feature many changes to the games.
New additions include new characters, items, and quests.
There will also be a Reputation System and a new 2 week event called Unreconciled Stars.

Nintendo Switch Port
It is expected that the game will be released on the Nintendo Switch.
The port was originally slated for the end of September when the game left beta.
Unfortunately that didn't happen and it is still missing from the hybrid system.
At some point it should be announced, hopefully with the 1.1 update.
Genshin Impact is still missing from the Xbox One/Series X though, and it seems like it may not be coming to the platform, much to fans disappointments.
Is Genshin Impact Coming To Playstation 5?
The 1.1 update is due to be released on November 11th, the day before the PS5 launches in select regions.
Part of the update will be adding compatibility for the Playstation 5.
Genshin Impact will run on PS5 via backwards compatibility.
Meaning it will run the PS4 version of the game rather than its own PS5 build.
However, the game will benefit from better graphics and improved loading times, like many backwards compatible games for both the PS4 and Xbox One.
