What is the best Hu Tao build in Genshin Impact?

Hu Tao, a Pyro Polearm user and the 77th Director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor in Liyue is back in Genshin Impact!.

A practical joker, Hu Tao is not very well-liked by other Genshin Impact characters.

This does not stop her from being a top-tier character, and one of the best DPS in the game.

Hu Tao focuses on single enemy combat, with the ability to shield herself and boost her own damage when below 50% health.

BENNETT: An excellent support for Hu Tao

Hu Tao works best as a Primary DPS with a Sub-DPS of the same element. Pair her with Bennet as an additional Pyro support/Sub-DPS and Xingqiu for Hyrdo/Pyro reactions. The 4th character should be used as a healer, such as Jean of Qiqi. Bennet can also be used to heal as well.

CONSTELLATIONS: Hu Tao with no Constellations unlocked

Hu Tao's Constellations are as follows:

  • Crimson Bouquet - Constellation Level 1
    • While in Paramita Papilio state, Charged Attacks do not consume Stamina.
  • Bad Omen - Constellation Level 2
    • Increases the Blood Blossom Damage by the amount equal to 4% of Hu Tao's Max HP at the time the effect is applied. Additionally, Spirit Soother will also apply the Blood Blossom effect.
  • Bloodletting Ritual- Constellation Level 3
    • Increases the Level of Guide to Afterlife by 3.
    • The maximum upgrade level is 15.
  • Garden of Eternal Rest - Constellation Level 4
    • Upon defeating an enemy affected by Blood Blossom, all nearby allies in the party (excluding Hu Tao herself) will have their Critical Rate increased by 12% for 15 seconds.
  • Floral Incense - Constellation Level 5
    • Increases the Level of Spirit Soother by 3.
    • The maximum upgrade level is 15.
  • Butterfly's Embrace - Constellation Level 6
    • Triggers when Hu Tao's HP drops below 25%, or when she suffers a lethal strike:
      • Hu Tao will not fall as a result of Damage sustained. Instead, all of her Elemental and Physical Resistance is increased by 200%, and their Critical Rate is increased by 100% for 10 seconds.
      • This triggers automatically when Hu Tao has 1 HP left.
      • Can only occur once every 60 seconds.

With the exception of Hu Tao's 1st Constellation, each additional level pumps Hu Tao up like she is on steroids. It will be interesting to see where her Tier rank lands once she has been out for a while longer, and what recommended C-Level he will land at.
