Xbox Game Pass: Star Wars smash joins platform just in time for Xbox Series X|S

It was recently announced that EA's subscription service, EA Play, would be joining up with Xbox Game Pass.

Rather than having to subscribe to both, subscribing to Xbox Game Pass grants members access to the EA Play service too.

This essentially means that Game Pass users are getting over 70 extra games to choose from at no additional cost.

The Netflix Of Gaming

With the release of the upcoming Xbox Series X, Microsoft have been heavily focused on creating an Xbox ecosystem, rather than focusing specifically on one platform.

Over recent months they have launched their xCloud service to allow Game Pass games to be streamed on phones and other devices, as well as really push their games on PC via the Windows Store and Steam.

ACCESSIBILITY: Microsoft's focus is on the accessibility of the Xbox ecosystem.

They have also been hard at work acquiring some top studios to make games exclusively for them.

Such as ZeniMax, the parent company of Bethesda, which they purchased for $7.5billion

This could potentially make games like The Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5 Xbox exclusives.

In the gaming industry there are subscriptions from a variety of different platforms and publishers, such as Microsoft, Sony, Ubisoft, and EA.

EA Play, formerly EA Access, is EA's own subscription service.

Originally on PC, it has since expanded onto PS4 and Xbox One, it allows players to play a variety of games that EA has developed and/or published, from old classic titles to new AAA games.

Some titles on the service include FIFA 20, Battlefield V, Rocket Arena, Anthem, Star Wars Battlefront 2, and The Sims 4.

During a recent Xbox event it was revealed that EA Play will become part of Xbox Game Pass and players who subscribe to Game Pass will automatically be granted access to EA's library of games too.

EA Play will be available to all Xbox Game Pass subscribers who subscribe to the Ultimate package.

This costs $14.99/£10.99 per month and gives players access to Xbox Game Pass, Game Pass for PC, Xbox Live Gold, and now EA Play, so a really good deal.

Game Pass Ultimate works out cheaper than buying Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold, and can be made even cheaper with longer subscriptions, such as 3 or 12 months.
