Is Omega Strikers Cross-Platform? Add Friends, Cross-Progression

After several delays, Omega Strikers has got its global launch, arriving on PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, and mobile platforms, with both an Android and iOS version now available.

Those aren't the only platforms planned for the game though. In fact, the game's delayed release was - in part - to get the game ported to both PlayStation and Xbox consoles. However, those hoping to go toe-to-toe in Oddysey Interactive's hockey/football/hero-shooter hybrid have to wait, owing to some last-minute "technical issues."

That aside, the Omega Strikers' availability on so many platforms has many wondering if the game offers cross-platform and cross-progression play, like that seen in Fortnite.

If you are one of those, the answers are below.

Does Omega Strikers support cross-platform?

Yes! Omega Strikers has been designed from the bottom up to support cross-play, with all platforms able to play with and against each other.

In fact, the developers feel that the game is one of the few on the market where those playing on a smartphone may be able to match the skills of those competing on a PC or console - claiming during the beta, that the developers had been secretly "dunking" on players using their smartphones when the game was only available on PC.

So, you can play with and against Omega Strikers players no matter the platform, but how do you do that?

How to add friends on Omega Strikers

If you want to play with your Nintendo Switch-owning buddy, but you're on PC, it is surprisingly stress-free when it comes to Omega Strikers.

No matter the platform, follow these instructions:

1. Launch Omega Strikers
2. Once in the lobby screen, click on the "social" icon on the top left side of the screen
3. Enter your friends Omega Strikers gamertag, and hit "search"
4. Find your friend's name from the list and click "add"
5. Your friend will now need to go to their friend list and click accept

You can now send a party invitation and play with one another.

Can you turn off cross-play?

At the moment, there is no way to turn off cross-play in Omega Strikers with everyone playing placed in the same lobbies, whether that be on PC, console, or mobile.

How to enable cross-progression

Not only does Omega Strikers offer cross-play, but you can also carry your progression - like your rank and unlocked strikers - between platforms. To do so, you will have to link your accounts.

To link your account, follow these instructions:

1. Launch Omega Strikers
2. Once at the lobby screen, click on the "settings" menu, found at the top right side of the screen (it looks like a cog)
3. Click on the "profile" menu, and scroll down and click on "link account"
4. Click "generate code" and follow the instructions above for the device you want to also play Omega Strikers on
5. Enter the code and then select the account that you wish to keep
6. That account will now be available on both devices
