The 2022 Qatar World Cup is the centre of attention at the moment within FIFA 23 Ultimate Team, with plenty of promo content dropping daily.

However, as the festive season approaches it looks like FUT 23's Xmas promo has already been decided, with the Winter Wildcard event inbound.

The Christmas-themed promotional event in Ultimate Team is always one of the most exciting in the FUT calendar and this year will be no different.

So, find out exactly what the Winter Wildcard promo is all about below.

Winter Wildcard promo explained

The Winter Wildcard promo will involve EA selecting a group of fan-favourite players and handing them significant one-time upgrades.

In addition to the rating boosts, EA will also be giving selected cards positions changes and new attributes as well as skill move and weak foot upgrades.

STACKED SQUAD - FUT 22's Winter Wildcard Team 1 did not disappoint

Last year, Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar Jr headlined the Team 1 squad with an incredible 93 OVR striker item that boasted five-star skill moves and a five-star weak foot.

Liverpool's defensive midfielder Fabinho was transformed into a centre-forward and handed appropriate boosts to match his new role.

The likes of Kingsley Coman, Adel Taarabt and Leonardo Spinazzola had their skill moves or weak foot star ratings adjusted.

With a promotional event like this, it is difficult to predict which players EA will select as there is no tie to real-world football whatsoever.

EA will likely select popular Ultimate Team cards that have not yet been given special items in FUT 23.

One overpowered player that does not yet have a boosted version within the game is Presnel Kimpembe.

IMMOVABLE OBJECT - Nobody is getting past this Kimpembe card

Perhaps EA will alter the Paris Saint-Germain defender's position to a central defensive midfielder, which could make for a beast of a card as you can see above.

Other fan-favourite players who are in the running are N'Golo Kante, Eder Militao, Joao Felix, Nicolo Barella and Luis Diaz.
