It's official - the brand-new FUT Ballers promo has hit FIFA 23 Ultimate Team in style.
The reveal of the FUT Ballers promo came as a surprise to almost all Ultimate Team fans who were expecting the annual FUT Birthday campaign to kick off this week.
We now know that the FUT Ballers items are dynamic, meaning they are eligible for upgrades after they are released.
So, find out all the details on how the FUT Ballers card upgrades actually work in FIFA 23 below.
FUT Ballers upgrades explained
EA has now confirmed exactly how the FUT Ballers cards will work.
First of all, the FUT Ballers cards will be made available exclusively via SBCs and Objectives and not in packs.
This means you will not be able to purchase FUT Ballers items on the transfer market.
As expected, all FUT Ballers players will be given an initial upgrade at the campaign launch.
Users who have decided to unlock the FUT Ballers card will then have the opportunity to upgrade it further via the 'Play to style Objectives'.
More details on the Play to style Objectives for each FUT Ballers item will be revealed as and when the specific cards are released.
Completing all Play to style Objectives will grant players FUT Ballers Mason Mount item.
What to expect
Based on the 'Ballers' title, we expect to see the world's most skilful players included, with the likes of Neymar Jr and Allan Saint-Maximin springing to mind.
Perhaps EA could take more ordinary cards and hand them five-star skill moves upgrades or even the flair trait.
Whether Icons and/or FUT Heroes are involved remains to be seen, but Ronaldinho would be a standout candidate here.
We have seen EA include ex-players in current promos on a few occasions this year, with the Fantasy FUT Heroes most recently and the Team of the Year (TOTY) icons back in January.
