FIFA 23 will be released soon, and it won't be long until we get our first look at some of the brand-new ratings for each team.
Check below to see our predictions for how Brentford could look in this year's game, with the ratings being used throughout the Ultimate Team season and at the start of Career Mode.
Top Players
After being out of the top flight of English football for over 60 years, Brentford survived their first Premier League season with ease, picking up some brilliant results along the way.
The Bees have strengthened their squad, and we predict their three highest-rated stars on FIFA 23 will be:
Thomas Strakosha (OVR 79)
As with many smaller sides, the goalkeeper is often the highest-rated player in the squad, and that is just the case with new acquisition Thomas Strakosha.
Coming in on a free transfer from Lazio, it was a bit surprising to see him added to the side given how well David Raya performed last campaign.
Ben Mee (OVR 78)
Another free signing, Ben Mee will add great Premier League experience to the side.
His rating might take a little knock from the 79 OVR he started with in FIFA 22 due to the relegation he suffered with Burnley.
Ivan Toney (OVR 77)
The club's top goalscorer last season, Ivan Toney will once again be the side's focal point up front.
In FIFA 22 updates his rating has increased from 76 OVR to 77 OVR, and we think that is where he will start in FIFA 23.
Transfers
With a few deals already in the bag, it's unclear how many more players Brentford will be able to take on this window.
Three of the players signed are young prospects, so building for the future is clearly part of the plan this year.
New Signings:
- Thomas Strakosha (OVR 79)
- Ben Mee (OVR 78)
- Mikkel Damsgaard (OVR 76)
- Aaron Hickey (OVR 73)
- Keane Lewis-Potter (OVR 70)
Departures:
- Christian Eriksen (OVR 82)
- Zanka (OVR 72)
- Julian Jeanvier (OVR 70)
Rumours:
- Martin Braithwaite (OVR 76)
Upgrades
A few little upgrades could be coming to the Brentford squad in FIFA 23, which would have an impact on potential Ultimate Team squad building.
We've already mentioned an upgrade for Toney, but Rico Henry, Ethan Pinnock, David Raya, Bryan Mbeumo and Christian Norgaard could all become 75-rated, changing from Silver to Gold cards in FUT.
Notable Upgrades:
- Ivan Toney (76 OVR → 77 OVR)
- Rico Henry (74 OVR → 75 OVR)
- Ethan Pinnock (74 OVR → 75 OVR)
- David Raya (74 OVR → 75 OVR)
- Bryan Mbeumo (74 OVR → 75 OVR)
- Christian Norgaard (73 OVR → 75 OVR)
- Aaron Hickey (69 OVR → 73 OVR)
Downgrades
Three of the new signings are likely to come to Brentford with slightly lower ratings than they had in FIFA 22, but none of the club's other players are likely to be hit in a large way.
A change that could interest FUT players is the possibility of Frank Onyeka being downgraded to a 74 OVR, which would make him an early Silver Lounge target.
Notable Downgrades:
- Thomas Strakosha (80 OVR → 79 OVR)
- Ben Mee (79 OVR → 78 OVR)
- Mikkel Damsgaard (77 OVR → 76 OVR)
- Frank Onyeka (75 OVR → 74 OVR)
