Need for speed

Upon seeing his FIFA 22 ratings for the very first time Cole was delighted, although one attribute took him by surprise.

"I think they might have overcooked the pace a little bit there, never been 88, not even on my moped," he said.

An 87 OVR with 88 Pace is not bad for a right-winger, so Cole actually looks like a strong option for any Premier League teams you may build next season.

"Physicality 72, that's alright. I think the defending could be better," said Cole, who then pointed out that under Jose Mourinho he "put a shift in."

Hero moment

Cole's 'hero' moment came against Manchester United when he scored a sublime goal that sealed the Premier League title for the Blues, which if you haven't seen it, it's well worth a watch!

“It was just pure instinct. It was a playground goal. The ball dropped to me and I knew where the goal was, knew where other players were," he said.

"All of a sudden, you’re through on goal with Edwin van der Sar. He showed me the near post and I knew he’d probably go down as most goalies, nine times out of ten, they gamble there.

"So if you go high near post, they can’t get it. I just thought, 'get a good connection, come through it'.

"As it went and hit the net, it was an exhilarating moment. The shirt came off! In the crowd, the usual! So I’m proud of that”.
