Destiny 2 Season 14 is on the way and we're here to talk about how much space you're going to need for the new update. At the moment... We still don't know.
We can make an educated guess though, but the full Patch Notes are dropping at the same time as the update itself. Useful, right?
How Big Is The Season 14 Download?
At the moment, we don't really know. It could be a bit bigger than last season's update as it's adding Vault of Glass. However, it could also be the same size or less depending on how it uses the current assets in-game and how the files are optimised for each platform.
It's quite hard to tell exactly, but we can look at the Season 13 update for a degree of insight. This doesn't include next-gen consoles though, as the last update required a full-game reinstall for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 versions of the game.
If we made a guess at these, they would most likely be a bit more inaccurate. The improved textures and higher fidelity can easily add a fair chunk to a download.
Still... At the moment, we're expecting the Season 14 download size to be somewhere between 1.5GB and 3.0GB on all platforms.
Steam's last major update was only 1.5 GB and it was the largest on Xbox consoles. We won't find out until the 3.2.0 Patch Notes come out tomorrow how large the update actually is. However, we can't imagine it'll be much larger than this.

Destiny 2 Season 14 Release Date
We might not know how much of a download there is, but we do know when we will find out and how long the Destiny 2 servers will be down in the meantime.
Season 14 is due to start at the same time as the Weekly Reset, on Tuesday, May 11th, so if you're a Destiny 2 veteran you're going to already know when things are going down.
If not, here's the update pipeline for 3.2.0 below:
- Maintenance Begins: 09:00 PST / 12:00 EST / 17:00 BST
- Players Removed & D2 Goes Offline: 09:45 PST / 12:45 EST / 17:45 BST
- Update 3.2.0 Releases: 10:00 PST / 13:00 EST / 18:00 BST
- Maintenance Concludes: 11:00 PST / 14:00 EST / 19:00 BST
Bungie is usually pretty good at keeping to their schedules. However, we can imagine Bungie Help is going to keep everyone updated if there is any extraordinary downtime.
