Now that Destiny 2: Lightfall has launched, players can set their sights on the expansion's first raid, The Root of Nightmares.

The Root of Nightmares raid has Guardians traverse through The Witness' Pyramid ship, taking on unsuspected foes. Information on the new raid is scarce and apart from Bungie's teases and reveals, Guardians will have to wait and see.

The Root of Nightmares Raid Release Date & Start Time

The Root of Nightmares raid will be opening on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. EST. Once it's time, the raid will be live in Destiny 2.

NA West: Friday, March 10, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. PST.
Europe: Friday, March 10, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. CET
United Kingdom: Friday, March 11, 2023, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. GMT
China: Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 1:00 a.m. BJT
Australia: Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 3:00 a.m. AUS

What to expect from The Root of Nightmares Raid

Similar to other raid releases in the past, the developers at Bungie have kept information on The Root of Nightmare tightly sealed.

Apart from the Tweet which announced the raid and its release date, there's not much to work off of.

The raid's description, according to Bungie's announcement on Twitter, reads as follows, "Ferried from an unknown time and place, a haunting presence has been detected. We must now confront the ancient threat growing at our doorstep." Additionally, the tweet itself shows off a Fireteam of six Guardians standing inside the raid.

The Root of Nightmares Raid Power Level Requirement

Players will need a Power Level of at least 1780 to enter The Root of Nightmares raid.

In order to gain that Power Level, players can complete as many weekly challenges as possible, as well as take on other missions, and activities. Additionally, completing the Lightfall campaign in Legendary grants 1770 Power Level sets.
