What is Iron Banner in Destiny 2?

Iron Banner is an event in the Crucible that appears twice a season. Like Trials of Osiris, it's one of the marquee PvP events in Destiny 2 and offers unique armor and weapons. As always, it arrives at the weekly reset and leaves during the following.

Season of the Haunted's Iron Banner event was Rift, a Destiny 1 mode that had players score a Spark in the enemy goal. For Season of Plunder, however, Iron Banner's event will be Eruption. Here, upon getting kills, players grow in power, entering a "Prime" state whereupon kills grant additional points but destroy the Guardian after 15 seconds.

Iron Banner Rewards

Ever since its introduction to the game, Iron Banner has always had the same rewards each month, which included armor, weapons, and cosmetics. However, due to the change, that is no longer the case.
