Can you play Split Screen in Warzone 2?
Unfortunately, split screen is not a feature that has come back for the latest iteration of Warzone. While there is an option to add a controller or keyboard and mouse for split screen, any online matchmaking is disabled when you use the feature.
The option is also present in Modern Warfare 2, but the same problem arises once you add a second player. You are able to play local games split screen, but once again trying to queue up with another local player will result in an error message.
Players looking to party up with friends will have to do so in online play, but Warzone 2 is at least free on all platforms. Cross-play is also enabled now for all platforms, so regardless of console or PC you can drop in with your friends.
Will Split Screen Become Available?
Since Warzone 1 didn't have split screen as an option, it's unlikely we'll see it added as a feature any time soon. This is a shame for fans looking to relive the days of old zombies or multiplayer parties, but perhaps not surprising.
Al Mazrah is incredibly graphically intensive, and large, for most consoles and PCs. It's possible that adding a split screen feature may simply not be viable in Warzone 2 simply based on the difficulty of processing such a large game.
