WoW Shadowlands Update 9.1.5 COUNTDOWN: Release Time, Patch Notes, Latest News

WoW Shadowlands 9.1.5 is packed with massive buffs, nerfs, and tons of new content all around.

Here we'll count down the final hours before Shadowlands 9.1.5 release time arrives, what players can expect come launch, and cover all the latest details.

WoW Shadowlands 9.1.5 Release Time

WoW Shadowlands 9.1.5 will go live on Tuesday, November 2nd, added onto the traditional maintenance schedule of the weekly reset.

LEFT BEHIND: Shadowlands 9.1.5 builds on the fallout of 9.1 and the Sanctum of Domination

This means servers will go down for WoW Shadowlands 9.1.5 at 11am EST - and will return after some hours of maintenance with the update ready to go.

Blizzard has not given an exact release time target for Shadowlands 9.1.5, and we've seen WoW updates take anywhere from less than an hour to upwards of 14 hours this year. With that, there are tons of possibilities for when WoW Shadowlands 9.1.5 will finally go live.

Our estimate is players will be able to play Shadowlands 9.1.5 by 6pm EST on Tuesday.

Shadowlands 9.1.5 Highlights

WoW Shadowlands 9.1.5 has some massive patch notes, but some changes and new additions stand out as a cut above the rest.

Here are the highlights of the WoW Shadowlands 9.1.5 patch notes.

Leveling Changes

Leveling your characters in WoW Shadowlands 9.1.5 will be easier than ever before thanks to some new tweaks along the way. For starters, Blizzard has removed the many quests introducing Oribos and The Maw from the main story questline, instead letting players venture out on their own to go through the story rather than waiting for the rather slow exposition.

THE JOURNEY: Leveling will be much more convenient in WoW Shadowlands 9.1.5

This change is an interesting one, with some players seeing it as gutting the story, while others see it as a welcome QOL improvement with little negative impact.

Covenant Swapping

WoW Shadowlands 9.1.5 will introduce the ability to change your Covenant at will, removing all penalties from the process.

LINE IN THE SAND: Players will be able to swap Covenants at will in Shadowlands 9.1.5

This will be fantastic for players looking to push their limits in all WoW areas - and also for those that want to give each Covenant cause a try before landing on a true main.

Just remember, you'll still need to reset your Soulbind trees at the Covenant Hub of your choice before getting back into the action.

AOE Cap Removal

The AOE cap has been an interesting experiment in World of Warcraft with Shadowlands, but after months of the new expansion, Blizzard has decided to remove and otherwise reduce its impact.

ALL FOR ONE: Players will be unleased with a massively scaled down AOE cap in 9.1.5

For most spells in WoW Shadowlands, the AOE cap will now be removed entirely. But for some of the strongest AOE in the game, the cap will simply be reduced to allow for fewer limitations.

While these changes will be unintuitive as they'll differ depending on each ability - this is moving in the right direction for the game.

RISE: The Mage Tower was a pivotal challenge in Legion, and it's back in Shadowlands 9.1.5

The Mage Tower challenges players with difficult scenarios to grind, and as players succeed, they rise up the ranks and unlock some of the game's best transmog items.

Whether the difficulty will be properly recaptured or players will simply walk through the returning Mage Tower for the incredible looking gear for their next transmog - the return of the Mage Tower is an underappreciated aspect of Shadowlands 9.1.5.
