Shadowlands Great Vault
The Great Vault in Shadowlands is a return of the weekly chest format of previous expansions. The good news is there's much more nuance and choice with the Great Vault, giving players more control of what gear they get each week.
For starters, checking off milestones for your Shadowlands Great Vault will earn you more loot options when its time to open up.
That means if you kill 1, 4, or 10 Castle Nathria bosses, you'll have 1, 2, or 3 different loot options under the raid milestones.

But that certainly isn't all you're limited to with the Great Vault.
Mythic+ Dungeons Great Vault
This week was the debut of Mythic plus content in Shadowlands, and it's started off as a massive success.
Mythic plus dungeons are a fantastic way to gear up for end-game content in new and exciting ways, and is more repeatable than killing the 10 Castle Nathria bosses.
For your Great Vault, completing Mythic Plus dungeons has a number of different effects on the gear you get.

For starters, completing the milestone amount of Mythic plus dungeons in Shadowlands is a great way to bump up the number of gear choices in your Great Vault each week.
Beyond this, your highest completed Mythic Plus dungeon as well as your fourth and tenth best dungeons completed will have different effects on your loot options.
To maximize the Ilvl of at least one choice in your Great Vault from Mythic Plus dungeons, you'll need to push 1 Mythic+ key as far as you can.
That's because one piece of gear in your Great Vault will be based on the highest key you complete, and the other two will be based on your fourth best key, and your tenth best key.

For a Mythic 10 key completion (note, completion, not completion beating the timer), your highest ilvl piece in your Great Vault will be a whopping 220 Ilvl!
Castle Nathria Great Vault
Along with Mythic plus content stacking up your Great Vault, Castle Nathria does a great job of this as well in Shadowlands.
There are 10 bosses in Castle Nathria, which you can fight on Normal and Heroic difficulty alike.
Your Great Vault gear will depend on your boss kills, so getting down as many quality bosses as you can is important to give yourself more options.

To grow the ilvl of your Castle Nathria Great Vault gear, you'll want to complete the milestones on the highest difficulty you can.
If you complete the milestones under Heroic difficulty, your gear options will be Heroic quality rather than Normal.
PVP Great Vault
PVP players aren't ignored when it comes to the WoW Shadowlands Great Vault - getting several PVP gearing options and milestones.
For players to maximize their gear in the PVP Great Vault, reach each honor milestone for the week. This will give you at least 3 Shadowlands PVP gear pieces to choose from when it's time to open up.
To push this gear's Ilvl even further, you'll want to get your Arena rating as high as possible (can be 2v2 or 3v3 depending on your preference).

This rating will dictate the Great Vault PVP gear's ilvl - with 1600-1799 rating, your gear options will be 213 ilvl. With 1800-2100 rating, this levels up to 220 ilvl!
