Bloodborne 2 is a concept only spoken about in hushed tones so as not to bring about any potential bad luck situations. The unprecedented success of the first game left fans wanting more as well as an entire PC community begging for the game to be ported over. Neither has come to fruition, yet.

Looking at the current planned releases for 2023, there are valid concerns that the release schedule looks a little bit thin. Could the surprise reveal and release of Bloodborne 2 be a flagship title for the PS5 that would change those perceptions?

Will Bloodborne 2 be Released in 2023?

Unless something changes in the next few months, it's highly unlikely that Bloodborne 2 will be both announced and released in 2023. While it would surely be a huge release for Sony and the PS5, it's just very rare that such announcements are done at short notice.

Bloodborne became one of From Software's biggest successes.

We are also still waiting for the highly anticipated port of Bloodborne over to PC. It remains one of the only Playstation exclusives not to receive this treatment and given the fan demand, we would find it much more likely that this happens in 2023 compared to the release of a whole new game.

Would it be exclusive?

I think it's a safe bet to assume that Bloodborne 2 would follow in the footsteps of the original and be a PlayStation exclusive. If the direction of the current-gen consoles is anything to go by, it's unlikely that the game would be released on PS4 as well and would be on the PS5 only.

While Microsoft has been pushing for more of a presence in the Japanese marketplace, targeting titles developed by From Software probably isn't high on their list of targets. We may well see more releases along the same lines as bringing the Persona franchise to the console.

Bloodborne 2 would certainly be a flagship title to bring to the Xbox Series X/S consoles but we won't be placing any bets on it happening!
