We're a matter of hours away from the end of Fortnite's Season 6; That also means that we're a matter of hours away from the start of Season 7 and the future. Not just the future of Fortnite, though.... "The Future".
So, Fortnite's next season looks to be alien-themed and here's what we know about when everything is going down.
LATEST - Story Trailer & Server Downtime
Epic Games has finally shared the link to its YouTube premiere of the Fortnite Season 7 Story Trailer and, while this is all very exciting, it also highlights the time when Fortnite's servers are due to go down.
With this in mind, we're expecting the Fortnite servers to go down at around 23:00 PST (June 7th) / 02:00 EST / 07:00 BST on June 8th. Most of the time, the Server Downtime lasts around two hours. However, this isn't set in stone so it might last a little longer or Epic Games might surprise us with a quick update.
UFO Abductions? What's Going On!
We all know Epic Games thrives on drip-feeding information to the players and as we approach Season 7, things haven't changed. We've seen Fortnite content creators and media personnel get ARG cards with "They're Coming" written on them, we've seen Crop Circles pop up across Fortnite Island, and now players are getting abducted by aliens.
When you combine this with the rest of the teasers, it's all pointing towards an extra-terrestrial theme for Season 7. However, it doesn't really make anything too much clearer about what's going to happen in the Season 6 Event.
We know that Agent Jones has headed off to sort out the Zero Point with The Foundation, but that's not exactly very telling. We can only imagine that Agent Jones is going to get abducted by aliens, given what's going on, but we don't know for sure.
Has The Season 7 Leaks Been Right Under Our Nose?
Epic Games often has us reading between the lines and the same can be said here.
Leaks have revealed that aliens are coming to Season 7 and it turns out, the clue was right in front of us this whole time.
By lining up a recently decrypted crop circle image, it matches up to the locations of the Spire towers that are found across the map.
What Could Happen & What We Know
At the moment, officially, we don't know a whole lot. It's a bit early to be hearing anything official from Epic Games about this season's big event and the start of Season 7, but we do have some idea of what's going on.
The best place to start with this topic is the Season 6 Cinematic Trailer and Agent Jones meeting The Foundation. We've linked that below:
Obviously, it leaves things a little bit open. Jonesy and The Foundation are off to tackle the whole Zero Point problem themselves and they're recruiting the rest of the infamous "Seven" to help them.
What's going to happen from here? We just don't know for sure. We are expecting something to happen that will revolve around Fortnite Island's central POI: The Spire. Other than this though, it's anyone's guess. Epic Games are notoriously good at throwing people unexpected epic moments in Fortnite and we're certain that the Season 6 event will live up to that.
When Is It Due To Take Place?
With all that being said, we do know when we're expecting this event to take place.
Looking at the Season 6 Battle Pass, we know that it's due to end on June 8th. This means that Season 7 is likely to start on June 8th.
This, as you might imagine, means we're expecting the Fortnite Season 6 event to take place at some point in June. Sometimes, the events are around a week-long and sometimes they're a limited-time, "on the day" experience. It's hard to tell how big Epic Games are going to go with the next in-game update.
However, despite all this, until we hear anything further... We are under the impression that the event will take place on June 8th. Epic Games' official social media accounts are the best place to look for more information, though.
