Epic Games opt to keep Fortnite Island largely the same for Season 7

The wait is finally over, players! Fortnite Season 7 is here and we have everything you need to know about the map changes Epic Games have made. Fortnite Island is still going to look familiar, but there are some things worth noting.

LATEST - New Map Revealed

Ever the astute data miner and/or leaker, HYPEX has released an image of Season 7's Fortnite Island map. As you can see below, not a lot has actually changed.

The Spire has exploded, as seen in the Season 7 Story Trailer, but that looks like it's pretty much it. Weeping Woods, Slurpy Swamp, and Misty Meadows are all still in the south of the Island and Steamy Stacks and Craggy Cliffs can be found up top.

To further break down the map, iFireMonkey has shared two images that show all Landmarks on Fortnite Island and all the new NPC locations on the map for Fortnite Season 7.

Season 7 Release Date & Downtime

Season 7 will begin on Tuesday, June 8th, the same date that Season 6 ends.

When it comes to the downtime, we can expect it to begin between 2 am EST/7 am BST and 4 am EST/9 am BST.

However, the Season 6 downtime did begin at 12 am EST, so it is possible we could see an earlier downtime if the update is larger than usual.

UFOs Have Started Abducting Players

In a rather strange piece of news, some players have found their character getting abducted by alien-like creatures.

This only further confirms suspicions of new alien theming.

Leakers Reveal The Crop Circle Marking

A recently decrypted file has revealed a crop circle that lines up to the locations of the Spire towers, further cementing that aliens are coming to the game next season.

Epic Games is always one step ahead of us, meaning these teases have been right under our nose this whole time.

Season 7 is rumoured to be the end of Chapter 2 so we can expect Epic Games to go all out this season.
