Mobile gaming is a growing market and everyone's starting to clock onto that. Fortnite, Genshin Impact, COD Mobile, and PUBG Mobile dominate any sense of competitive scene at the moment but other developers are starting to stake their claim at the growing market.
Apex Legends Mobile was recently announced by Respawn Entertainment and EA, League of Legends Wild Rift is just about finding its footing on mobile devices, and now it looks like Riot Games' Valorant team want to take a stab at it.
Here's everything we know about Valorant Mobile so far...
Valorant Mobile Announced
Okay, at the moment, we don't know a whole lot about Valorant Mobile and what's coming.
Riot Games has simply just announced the game and left it at that, by the looks of things. Without going into too many details... Riot Games said the following:
" [Riot Games] is preparing to expand the franchise in order to bring Valorant to more players around the world."
Valorant has been out for a year and Riot Games are reporting a very successful first year. According to Upcomer, Riot Games' tactical shooter has an average player count of around 14 million. Do you think that those players will translate to Valorant's dedicated mobile spin-off? We're not so sure.
In and amongst this announcement, there were also conversations about how Valorant has succeeded due to its "roots on Twitch".
" A year ago, VALORANT launched and found an immediate home on Twitch... Through live-streaming, tournaments and collaboration, the Twitch community embraced all that VALORANT has to offer with excitement and enthusiasm.
" We love how our creators and viewers have continued to champion and celebrate the world of VALORANT and we are excited to see how the next year unfolds.”
Again, this doesn't guarantee Valorant Mobile will be a success but it's hardly a bad thing to have under your belt going into Year 2.
