A major update has landed for UFL, overseeing several gameplay improvements, adjustments, and bug fixes.

Developers have been closely monitoring community feedback since the game launched as a free-to-play title on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in December, with efforts being made to enhance the UFL experience for players.

UFL Update v0.61.1 Patch Notes

The latest update for UFL has arrived, and it's a pretty important one. With the help of community feedback, Update v0.61.1 addresses several areas, including gameplay, AI behaviour, bugs, audio, and visuals.

As one of the biggest updates since launch, Update v0.61.1 brings "long-awaited improvements" that will "enhance your UFL experience" according to Strikerz Inc.

With that in mind, let's check out the full Patch Notes list below:

Gameplay

  • Added penalty kick training mode.
  • Added free-kick training mode.
  • Added corner kick training mode.
  • Enhanced goalkeeper logic and behavior.
  • Introduced new goalkeeper animations.
  • Reduced pass accuracy from difficult positions.
  • Decreased accuracy for long passes and one-touch passes.
  • Fine-tuned yellow/red card probabilities.
  • Contact within 2 animation frames (0.066 ms) before ball contact is no longer considered a foul, preventing penalties for near-simultaneous events.
  • Auto-switching delay time now depends on pass distance. 50m pass: switching occurs after 0.7 seconds. 10m pass: switching happens almost immediately.
  • If no chaser is present on your team, the manual switching system selects the player nearest to the chaser's target point rather than simply the nearest to the ball.
  • Low Shot Reconfiguration
  • Introduced additional ball flight trajectories.
  • Adjusted shot variability and miss probabilities.
  • Reduced the frequency of hitting the goal frame.
  • High-footed shots now bounce off the pitch more often, with a greater chance of such rebounds from higher balls.
  • Chip Shot Adjustments
  • Increased ball spin.
  • Reduced horizontal deviation and miss probability.
  • Reduced shot power within the defensive penalty area when controlling the ball (chasing or receiving) and the stick is directed toward the player's own goal.
  • Decreased accuracy for headed shots.
  • Players now dodge the ball when their teammate is shooting on goal.

Additional Gameplay Fixes

  • Improved ball reception to reduce missed controls.
  • Fixed various gameplay bugs.
  • Resolved several issues related to goal net behavior.
  • Intentional own goals now result in a technical defeat.
  • Casual mode now allows matches with injured or red-carded players in the squad.
  • Resolved several UI bugs and crashes.
  • Increased the chance for defenders to win aerial duels during corner kicks.
  • Added new stop-and-wait (Idle) animations, making players appear more lifelike even when stationary.

AI Assist, Bot

  • Reduced the movement intensity of fullbacks when participating in attacks while using "Keep Control in the Midfield" or "Support the Attack" tactics in the "Support Attack" setting.
  • Improved situational attacking runs into the opponent's penalty box when the ball is on the flank.
  • Increased movement intensity during pressing; players actively close down opponents and maintain tighter marking.
  • The defensive line stays closer to the opponent’s attacking line.
  • Defenders track attacking runs behind the line more closely during through passes.
  • Increased the base width of the defensive line up to their third of the field.
  • Fullbacks now have more freedom to press opponents on the flanks.
  • At least one centre-back will always remain inside the penalty area for safer set-piece distribution.
  • Player starting positions now depend on the team's tactical style. "Possession" style positions players closer to their own goal. "Long Pass" style positions players closer to the opponent's goal.
  • Effective use of dribbling in 1v1 situations, predicting player actions.
  • Advancing into the penalty area and bypassing defense with greater success.
  • Situational play through the centre or flanks based on gameplay context.
  • Utilizing crosses into the penalty area.

Audio and Visual

  • Added new UI sound effects.
  • Fixed issues related to commentator voice lines.
  • Introduced new content in the store.
  • Added new players to the season (Austrian National Team). Available shortly.
  • Improved appearances for over 40 players.
  • Added five signature skins for the following players: Isak, Bisseck, Darwin, Traore, and Endrick.
  • Updated player photos for: Isak, Bisseck, Darwin, Traore, and Endrick.

Other

  • The selling price of players has been increased.
