UFL is an upcoming football title that will be free and fair to play, and they have now added another high-profile club to their growing list of official partners.
Scottish giants Celtic have been added to the list, announcing the partnership on their social media platforms.
UFL appears to be gathering momentum before release, but can it challenge the status quo?
UFL
The biggest news around the game since it was announced, people will be able to see the gameplay of UFL for the first time.
On Thursday, 27 January, this new footage will be released, with the only thing comparable so far being the Romelu Lukaku ambassador reveal.
Needless to say, we are excited, as this will really showcase if the title can provide competition to FIFA.
If you had not seen it already, take a look at the UFL reveal trailer above.
Release Date
At the moment UFL has no official release date, with its developers referring to it as "ongoing", and the only hint from the trailer being that it is "coming soon".
With the disastrous start to life that eFootball had, the game makers are taking their time to make sure it is as polished as possible before committing to a date.
The game has been in development since 2016, but included in that time has been the building of Strikerz Inc. as a company, which came into existence at the same time.
The Bhoys
51-time Scottish champions Celtic are the latest club to partner with the new football game UFL.
"Celtic FC is proud to announce an exciting partnership with UFL, a next-generation football game based on fair-to-play principles."
"Together we are going to defy football gaming conventions!"
Fair-to-play principles seem like a not-so-subtle dig at football gaming juggernaut EA, in particular the lucrative Ultimate Team mode, and we are excited to see how they defy football gaming conventions!
Licenses
Celtic is not the only high-profile club to partner up with UFL, with six other European clubs already linked to the upcoming game.
All six clubs have a rich history, and all come from different countries, suggesting UFL is targeting a wide audience of football fans.
Besiktas, Borussia Monchengladbach, Monaco, Shakhtar Donetsk, Sporting CP, and West Ham United are the other confirmed partners so far.
With Celtic making the seventh club to add to the list, will UFL announce any other partners in the coming weeks?
