Rockstar has finally confirmed the release date, price and platforms for the GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition. We expected some kind of news today as it's the 20th Anniversary of Grand Theft Auto 3.
Despite the announcement, we're still unclear what kind of remake/remaster treatments the games are getting. All we do know is that the previous versions of the games have been removed from digital platforms.
So, when is the game coming out, how much will it cost and where can you get it? We've got all the details right here...
GTA Trilogy Release Date
The GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition will release on Tuesday, 11 November 2021. If that date sounds familiar, it's because it marks to 10th Anniversary of The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. A special edition of the game will also be released so it's suddenly become a great day for games!
Price & Platforms
One point of contention may be the price that's attached to the games. The games are currently available to pre-order for £54.99/$59.99 on Xbox, Playstation, PC with Nintendo Switch to be available soon.
Each of the games was purchasable separately for less than £10 on multiple platforms before being removed. If you caught the games at the right time, you may have even been able to get all three for less than £10 in a bundle.
Once it was revealed that the old versions of the games would be removed from sale, fans rushed to positively review them on Steam in order to encourage people to buy them before they disappeared.
Many fans will be hesitant to drop so much on three older titles when it's still so unclear what changes have actually been made. While Rockstar is no stranger to staying quiet, it may be wise for them to come forward and reveal more about what upgrades are coming as part of the GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition.
