After a nearly one-year period of exclusivity on Xbox and PC platforms, The Ascent is finally coming to PlayStation in March!
The slick and stylish Cyberpunk-themed ARPG from small indie developer Neon Giant is confirmed for both PS4 and PS5. This announcement also co-insides with the reveal of the Cyber Warrior DLC Pack, available on Steam today.
The Ascent is coming to PlayStation
When we reviewed The Ascent at launch, we scored it 4.5 out of 5 with the following verdict:
The Ascent takes its genre and theme, reads the rulebook on both, then politely shreds them and does what the hell it wants. While I understand the difficulty spikes within the context of the game, such a drastic switch in gameplay could turn a lot of people away from playing The Ascent so I ultimately see this as an issue. Everything else, the visuals, sound, story, gameplay loop, characters and world, is glorious.
Now PlayStation owners can get their hands on this brilliant ARPG and experience it for themselves. The game will be released on Thursday, 24 March. Pre-orders are live right now.

“We’ve been blown away by how amazing the response to The Ascent has been so far on Xbox and PC, so we are thrilled to be bringing the game to a new audience of PlayStation players. We started making The Ascent because we love making games and we want to share what we’ve made with as many gamers as possible in the hope that people enjoy playing it as much as we enjoyed making it.”
We're incredibly excited to see that game available on more platforms and hope that a possible Nintendo Switch port is something that we could be playing in the future.
