The Sims has remained one of the most popular games since it first released back in the year 2000.
Since then, millions of gamers have been creating their perfect families and lives in the virtual world.
The Sims 4, while improving on some aspects, also took a giant step back in others, something fans hope EA doesn't repeat with the next entry.
Here are 5 things fans want to see from The Sims 5.
What Fans Want To See
In a recent Reddit post, fans discussed what features they'd like to see in the next entry in the series.
Here are some of the things they are asking for.
Open World
Looking through the comments, it seems that many fans all want the same things out of The Sims 5, and one of the main things being a more open world.
The Sims 4 is very closed off, primarily focusing on you and your house.
Fans would like The Sims 5 to feature more neighbourhoods and the ability to go to other places, such as a mall, something that has been featured in previous games.
Pets In The Base Game
EA has a habit of trying to get as much money out of their players as they can via micro-transactions.
This includes making pets a paid feature, even though they are a part of many people's families.
It would be great to see pets added as main features to the game and not something that EA charges £39.99 for.
Online Play
This is a controversial one, but some Sims fans would love to see online play implemented into the game.
Whether this would work would all depend on how it was implemented. If it was done where five people each control a member of a family, maybe not because you'd always be dependent on your friends being online.
But, if you had control of your own family and could interact with many other players and their families, then it very well could work.
The Sims has always been about your family and the life that you build for them, changing that wouldn't fit with what the game is.
However, while you're building your perfect life, thousands of other people are doing the same.
So why couldn't they interact with each other? Invite each other for dinner parties, go to the mall together etc.
More Career Options
Previous entries in the series have allowed for so many different career options, from firefighters, scientists, police officers and dozens more.
With wide and varied options when it comes to career paths, it would be great to see this reflected in the game more.
Stop Locking Everything Behind DLC
Calculating all of The Sims 4 DLC that is available on Steam, if it was the full price then it would cost a player £683.60 on top of the purchase for the game itself.
This shows the amount of content that is locked behind a paywall.
Some of it is developed after development, but some are basic features you'd expect to see in the game, such as pets, seasons etc.
A lot of the DLC has been in previous games for free as part of the base game and it would be great to see this content return to the base game and then allow EA to think of some fresh ideas if they want to release lots of DLC.
