Secretlab is one of the top brands which design gaming hardware for devoted fans of the hobby.
Their chairs are high quality with a high price tag to match. However, this works in their favour due to the quality they provide with their equipment.
This is no different with their latest 2022 series, the Secretlab Titan EVO which boasts more improvements, some brilliant features and an aesthetically pleasing design.
So, let's take a look at my thoughts on the chair and how it has improved my everyday life.
Overall Secretlab aesthetic
Let's start at the start, shall we? Receiving and opening the parcel from Secretlab was as easy as anything. Despite the huge size of the box, I did not struggle to set up the chair at all. And the tools provided will definitely be useful for other DIY projects too.
Opening the box, I was shocked at how great the chair looked, even wrapped in plastic. As I began to build the chair, the quality and look of the chair were unlike anything I had ever seen. The sleek Stealth colourway highlighted the red and gold accents which scream luxury.
The aesthetic of the chair is beautiful and is a great addition to my workspace at home.
Seat design
Of course, for a gaming chair, comfort has to be key. And in the Titan EVO 2022 comfort is obviously the priority.
The chair has a pebble-seat design which helps to position the body in a way that is comfortable in any sitting position. The comfort and support of this style of chair are really something to marvel at. And that is just from the seat base alone.
Lumbar support
Before this chair, I was working from a wooden dining chair which left me with back pain daily. Since using this chair, back pain has completely disappeared. Even when sitting down for long stretches.
This is all thanks to the genius behind the adaptable lumbar support from the chair. Twisting nobs on the side of the chair adjusts the height and strength of the support. Lumbar is different for each person so customisation makes sense.
But this is by far the best feature of the chair, I can comfortably sit down for long periods of time and not feel any issues with pain. However, the support can take a bit of time to figure out. I spent a week slightly adjusting the support to make sure that it felt right for me.
Secretlab armrests
The armrests that came with the chair were the only part of the design which felt a little less comfortable. The design with the lock-in feature felt really nice and professional. The sturdiness of the overall feeling was also very high quality.
However, the armrests were not comfortable and verged on hard. They are made of Secretlab PU foam but felt a little uncomfortable under my arms.
Luckily, there are many different types of armrests that can be replaced. My personal favourites are the PlushCell Memory Foam Armrest tops which have a velvet feel and squish to them.
One great feature about the armrests is how they could be adjusted at all angles. If you wanted it to be adjusted in every way, it can do it. Bringing them up, down, at an angle, nearer or farther away. The range is endless.
Multi-tilt feature
The multi-tilt feature is great for those who like to swing on their chairs but in a safe manner. I personally do not like the feature so much, but I can imagine it can make things more comfortable for those who want a more chilled position.
There is also a way to lock this feature which makes it more suitable for younger children and avoids danger. This is a nice touch for those of us working at home during the school holidays.
Secretlab headrest
The magnetic headrest really helps keep the stealthy look of the Secretlab Titan EVO chair.
With previous headrests, an elastic strap would be connected to the chair. Although not a huge issue, it can look a little clunky and out of place. This issue has been resolved by using a magnetic headrest which simply sticks to the headrest of the chair.
Keeping a sleeker look and also more practical, this idea is a brilliant move from Secretlab and shows their genius design ideas.
The best gaming chair?
So, is the Titan EVO 2022 the best gaming chair out there at the moment? In terms of pricing and design, yes. There aren't many faults that I had with my time sitting in the chair. It really does hit the sweet spot with pricing and the overall feeling.
With the key focus of this chair being comfort, it's surprising that the design is also so well done. Although, we shouldn't expect any less from Secretlab.
