Iron Valiant is the rarest future variant found in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Here's where to get one yourself.

In your journey through the Paldea region in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, paradox Pokemon will be among the most desired additions to your collection.

These endgame past and future variations of older-generation Pokemon are powerful and necessary to complete your Pokedex. Still, among them, Iron Valiant is the rarest you'll need to hunt down.

The future combination of Gardevoir and Gallade, Iron Valiant is a Fairy and Fighting-type despite its steel-like appearance. Here's how to get it.

As has been the case in every Pokemon game prior to generation nine, both Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet have version exclusives that can not be caught in the other game but unlike in previous games, many of the exclusives have a purpose this time around.

The stories of both games have themes of the past and future respectively and Iron Valiant, being a future variant of Gardevoir/Gallade can only be found in Pokemon Violet because of this.

Below we will walk you through all of the steps needed to come across Iron Valiant but be warned that there will be some spoilers for Pokemon Violet's story so we recommend completing that first before hunting Iron Valiant.

Step 1: Area Zero

Players will need to journey to Area Zero in Pokemon Violet to get Iron Valiant

To get Iron Valiant, players must first have access to the mysterious Area Zero, located in The Great Crater of Paldea.

To achieve this, players must have first completed all of the main objectives of the three storylines available in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, including the final bosses of the Titan and Team Star storylines and the Elite Four and Champion.

Once done, you and your group of friends will delve into Area Zero, an area with plenty of rare Pokemon including the Paradox Pokemon found exclusive to your version.

Step 2: Find the Tera Cave

To get your hands on Iron Valiant and the other Paradox Pokemon, you need to find this cave in Area Zero

Once you begin exploring Area Zero, the story will take you to four different research stations, with each one further into the crater and closer to the bottom.

Once you hit the third of these research stations, you will face an encounter against Iron Treads, the futuristic Donphan that you fought as a Titan.

Once you defeat Iron Treads, you will be faced with a large cave opening. This is the final area where the 4th station is but don't enter it just yet. Instead, face the cave entrance and look to the paths to the left and right. Go down the path on the left (potentially back the way you came).

Step 3: Find the Hidden Cave

When travelling down the left path, keep an eye out on the left-hand side for a rock formation that has a gap in between that you can walk through. Sticking to the left-hand side of the cliff wall will help you find it easier.

Once you find it, enter the large cave and find the open area with a large pattern on the floor. This is where you will be able to find many Pokemon including Iron Valiant

Step 4: Battle and Catch Iron Valiant

You need to battle Iron Valiant before you can catch it and add it to your Pokedex

Once you find an Iron Valiant, enter a battle with it and if you have a quick ball, immediately throw one as soon as the battle begins. The catch rate for Iron Valiant is pretty bad so it is unlikely to work but it's still worth a try, just incase.

Otherwise, we recommend using a fairy type against Iron Valiant due to the Pokemon's awkward typing of Fairy and Fighting. One with the move False Swipe and a high attack stat is preferred but if you are at a high enough level, you shouldn't have much of an issue regardless of what you use.

Multiple Iron Valiant can also spawn here so be sure to catch as many as you can to try and get the best possible member of your team or potentially even a shiny.
