PlayStation Store update shown off ahead of PS5 release

It's the start of a new era at PlayStation, with Sony updating the PS Store as excitement for next month's PS5 launch builds.

It's not good news for everyone, however, with older consoles getting the chop from the online Store.

New look

Whether it's the homepage, in search or on a specific game page, the new PS Store is much cleaner on desktop!

Take a look at this Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales page:

The new site is yet to go live, but will be rolled out across various regions over the next week.

Farwell nostalgia

As addressed last week, one thing that will be leaving the PS Store will be PS3, PS Vita and PSP games.

You can still purchase these titles from the Store, but you can only do so through your console, and not the online website.

PS4 content also takes a slight hit on the platform, with apps, themes and avatars removed, as well as the wishlist.

As the site goes live, it will be missing the ability to filter listings, file size info and screenshots on game pages.

The distinction between full games and add-ons will also be missing.

Don't Miss Out: HUGE savings on this 4K TV designed for PS5!

We expect that the above elements will be added as the platform evolves.

All change

Party chat for 100 players is said to be arriving for PS5, as well as the wishlist feature to return to the Store.

The PlayStation Trophies system has been overhauled, with new Trophy levels and new level calculation.

Also, Sony will be updating the Trophy level icon on PS5 and the PlayStation App “at a later date”.
