Overwatch has been going strong for quite some time and it really is a wonder where it could go next. The Overwatch Archives 2022 event is due to start soon so this is everything we know so far.

Now that we're approaching the end of March, we should see some sign of the next event soon. It seems likely we will receive the announcement over the next week.

Overwatch Archives Event 2022 Release Date
We don't actually know when the Overwatch Archives Event is due to start but we have a pretty good guess, based on all previous years.
Here are the dates the previous Archives events happened:
- 2021 - April 6th to April 27th
- 2020 - March 12th to April 2nd
- 2019 - April 16th to May 6th
- 2018 - April 10th to April 30th
With all this in mind, we anticipate that the Overwatch Archives event 2022 will finally launch around mid-April. Given one year started all the way in March, there's technically a chance it will start this early but we won't count on it.
After this, it tends to last for a few weeks, giving you time to unlock as many skins as you possible can. Alongside this, previous years' skins will be cheaper, making now a good time to save up all your credits.
You will receive 10 free loot boxes as the event starts so this is a good time to hunt down some skins.
What is the Overwatch Archives Event 2022?
The Archives event is all about the history of the Overwatch organization, sending you through secretive modes and it features skins to celebrate this. It's a great time to find out more lore about the game and really plays into the story at work in Overwatch.
It seems likely that Overwatch 2 will only expand upon this, adding even more lore to look into.
