EA Sports is kicking off the hockey season in a cinematic style. The company has recently announced a first-of-its-kind collaboration with Prime Video, integrating the hit docuseries "FACEOFF: Inside the NHL Season 2” directly into NHL 26.
This partnership bridges the worlds of sports storytelling and gaming, allowing fans to experience the action, drama, and rivalries of FACEOFF both on screen and in-game.
A Two-Week Event Inspired by the Series

NHL 26 has started a two-week Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT) contest on October 7 to mark the opening of the new NHL season. Players are allowed to participate in themed challenges to win valuable player items and special incentives.
The event will feature episodic HUT Moments that mirror the real-life stories from FACEOFF: Inside the NHL Season 2, highlighting star athletes, including cover stars Matthew Tkachuk and Brady Tkachuk, besides Sidney Crosby, Anže Kopitar, Seth Jarvis, Brad Marchand, William Nylander, and Zach Werenski, among others.
Where Hockey Meets Storytelling
FACEOFF: Inside the NHL Season 2 offers fans an inside view at the lives of the league's biggest names, both on and off the ice, by taking them behind the scenes. Now, via NHL 26, fans will be able to relive those defining moments, recreate key plays, and build a lineup around the season's standout athletes.
EA Sports says the collaboration is all about deepening the fan experience:
When and Where to Watch
Season 2 of FACEOFF: Inside the NHL has been streaming exclusively on Prime Video since October 3, while the NHL's HUT event started on October 7.
Fans can now dive into the stories making headlines across the league, collect themed items, and play through defining moments from the new season, all within NHL 26.
