Gotham Knights is a rather anticipated co-op fighter set in the Batman universe. This hype comes with plenty of expectations and a recent trailer may have just shifted them somewhat. Here's what we know right now.
New Gotham Knights Trailer
We finally have real gameplay of Gotham Knights in action. A new trailer coming in at 13 minutes long showed off some of the games sights, as well as many of the games baddies. It's atmospheric, loaded with tonnes of neon. It opens with Nightwing, flying around the city, ready to bring justice to the baddies. He is incredibly acrobatic, flying around the arena.
The trailer then talks about co-op gameplay, swapping views to show Red Hood. He can performs multiple jumps in midair and is a much more brutish fighter, favouring ranged attacks and heavy hits.
You can play the entire game solo but it seems like it is designed to enjoy with a friend. With multiple characters to play and tonnes of different play styles, you will be able to replay entire sections from a brand new perspective.
As well as this, the trailer shows of a loadout and level system, allowing you to customise gear and abilities for the best chance of winning. This means that you can your friends can change around your approach to missions to best synergise with each others gear, a fun way of keeping co-op fresh. You can check out the trailer for yourself right here.
PS4 and Xbox One Versions Cancelled
Unfortunately, alongside this new gameplay trailer comes the announcement that it will no longer be coming to PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. It seems likely that the limited power and architecture has been holding back development. In return for leaving more players behind, we will likely see a much more impressive title on launch.
It is currently still planned to release on October 25th, this year. If anything changes, we'll update you right here.
