The NBA 2K26 MyTEAM deep dive has premiered, and it revealed the biggest addition in the history of the mode, with WNBA players now also being present in MyTEAM. This is something that was expected to happen sooner or later, but it's still a historic moment for the mode.

But that's just the tip of the iceberg, as a new card type was revealed, new game modes were announced, an improved reward system was added, and plenty of quality-of-life features were introduced.

Without further ado, let's see what's new on MyTEAM in NBA 2K26.

The NBA-WNBA crossover is finally here!

For the first time, WNBA players will be available on MyTEAM, allowing fans to add WNBA player cards to their lineups and combine their favourite NBA and WNBA players to build a unique and unstoppable team.

It's a historic moment for the NBA 2K franchise that marks a new era for MyTeam, and basketball video games in general. WNBA players will be eligible for all MyTEAM modes, with attributes and badges working similarly to their NBA counterparts.

Furthermore, all of the WNBA uniforms and courts have been added to MyTEAM, giving you more options to choose from when it comes to court and jersey customization.

The MyTEAM lineup options are infinite, and you can now pair star players from both leagues, such as Tatum and A'ja Wilson, LeBron James and Caitlin Clark, or Paige Bueckers and Giannis Antetokounmpo, among many others.

Game Changers Cards will change the way you play MyTEAM.

Game Changers are MyTEAM's newest card type, and just like their name indicates, they are here to change players' MyTEAM experience. These cards are truly unique, as they give players special power-ups, allow players to customize their MyTEAM experience, and provide better rewards.

They are consumable cards, and some of the "superpowers" they provide are:

  • Activating a REP or MyTEAM Points multiplier for your next game.
  • Recovering a win streak in Showdown after a loss.
  • Auto-winning a Breakout game without playing it.
  • Earning an extra prize or recovering a loss during a Breakout run.
  • Instantly completing an Exhibition Mission.
  • Auto-evolving an Evolution card.
  • Reducing the difficulty or target score differential in Domination.

When 2K said they can change the players' MyTEAM experience, they meant literally, as auto-wining a Breakout game or recovering a win streak in Showdown after losing is something that was previously unheard of, and that changes how you play the mode.

New Game Modes and Returning Ones

The popular All-Star Team-Up mode is returning to MyTEAM, allowing players to once again compete in a 5V5 co-op game with friends. Each half will last six minutes, and players can access the mode from either the MyTEAM menu or the portal in the Triple Threat Park. It's one of the most fun modes in franchise history, and it's great to see it returning.

A new MyTEAM mode is making its debut in NBA 2K26, and it's called Gauntlet, a new mode within the Breakout mode. Gauntlet is a mode where players are placed in a straight-line game board, and they need to beat challenges that gradually increase in difficulty, with the goal being to last as long as possible to earn the best rewards possible.

But this mode has a catch, as users can only use their player cards once per run, which will force players to use their full lineup and also be more strategic about the players they pick and when they pick them. All Gauntlet games have objectives, and by completing them, one random player card they have used in the current run will become eligible again. After every three games, players can choose to face the "gatekeeper teams" to earn fantastic rewards.

The Salary Cap mode is also returning to MyTEAM in NBA 2K26, but with a great addition, as now it has a single-player option, where players face dlineups created by other members of the NBA 2K community. It has the same reward track as the multiplayer mode, but the multiplayer mode offers double the points, which makes the reward progression significantly faster.

MyTEAM Arena

The MyTEAM Arena is the new starting point of the mode, and is also where players' achievements, such as reaching level 40 in a season or tier one in Showdown, will be displayed.

But that's not all, as players who manage to reach King of the Court or the Dark Matter Tier in MyTEAM REP will receive special additions to their MyTEAM arena, to make them deserveably stand out among the NBA 2K community.

Fans who prefer to play in the traditional NBA or WNBA arenas can still choose to do it, swapping out the MyTEAM arena for one of them. However, it's only on the MyTEAM arena that players' achievements and accolades will be displayed.

New Coaching Features

Coaching cards have never been so important in MyTEAM, as now, players can build their coaching staff, with up to five coaching cards active at the same time. There is a new coaching skill that three players can evolve to unlock badges they can then add to their player cards.

Each coaching card now has five categories: Strategy, Leadership, Mentorship, Knowledge, and Team Management, and you will choose which one to assign to your coach. Doing that will unlock Badge Training Challenges.

From redeeming coach points, which can be earned in REP tiers and from Season rewards, you can unlock and access incredible badges for player cards.

To add these powerful badges to player cards, you only need to complete one of the Badge Training Challenges. It's worth noting that coach cards still provide in-game boosts, in many cases for the entire game.
