One of the lower end teams in the league, the Atlanta Hawks have nonetheless held out, and have made their numerous playoff appearances, showing up 46 times in their 70 seasons, and even bringing home the championship once. You can’t talk about Hawks Greats without talking about Bob Pettit. He was even with the Hawks when they were known as the Milwaukee Hawks before the team transferred to St. Louis. Averaging a solid 26.4 points per game throughout his 11 seasons and 792 games, with a career high 29.2 average during the ‘58-’59 season. He had a monstrous 16.2 rebounds per game averaged, along with a 3.0 assists per game, making him feared no matter where he stood on the court.
Dominique Wilkins, SF/SG (94)

Although he would go on to have short careers with a few other teams, Dominique Wilkins played most of his career with the Atlanta Hawks, running 882 of his 1074 games with them. This led to him having an amazing 26.4 points per game average during his 12 seasons with the Hawks, along with a career high 30.3 points per game during his ‘85-’86 season. He also held a strong 1.4 steals per game and 6.9 rebounds per game.

Although Dikembe Mutombo has had illustrious careers with a few teams, his 5 years with the Hawks was quite memorable. Averaging a mediocre 11.9 points per game in his 5 years of play there, he held a whopping 12.6 rebounds per game, as well as a monstrous 3.2 blocks per game, making him a complete brick wall, the likes of which most teams will never see again.

Lou Hudson had the Unique situation where he was able to watch the transfer of the Hawks from Seattle to Atlanta over his 11 year tenure with the Hawks. He held a nice 2.9 assists per game, while helping himself to the title of thief with 1.7 steals per game.

Joe Johnson has definitely had a long career in the NBA. helping himself to quite a few different teams, he still has had his longest career of seasons so far with the Hawks. Within those 7 years, he held a 20.9 point average per game, as well as 1.0 steals per game. He also had 4.2 rebounds per game, and 5.2 assists per game, making him a decent team player when it comes down to it.
