Multiversus Delay Season 1 and Morty

The news came directly from the Multiversus Twitter account during a period when a lot of Warner Bros-related news was being made.

In a three-part tweet, the account began by thanking the people playing the game, saying that it was exciting to see everyone who was enjoying the open beta.

In the second part of this thread is when Multiversus fully announced the delay, with the statement saying that they were delaying both the start of Season 1 and the release of Morty to a later date though they didn't specify when that would be.

Season 1 of Multiversus was officially set to begin on Monday, 8th August 2022 and see the introduction of Rick and Morty's Morty as the 18th playable character in the game but this delay has made it so that is no longer the case.

Rick meanwhile was always going to be added after Morty during Season 1 and that will likely still be the case even with this announced change of plans.

The Twitter account did mention that they looked forward to unveiling Season 1 very soon and that due to the delay, the pre-season battle pass that is currently ongoing will now be extended to Monday, 15th August 2022, giving players a whole extra week to complete it if they haven't already.
