Minecraft has come an awfully long way since it’s launch almost a decade ago. This year alone, Caves and Cliffs part one was just one big step forward for the game. We’re now days away from the release of part two. Here’s what you should know.

Latest - out next week

After months of teases and updates, the second part of Minecraft Caves and Cliffs is finally almost here.

You can play it for yourself next week on November 30th.

Minecraft Caves and Cliffs part two release date

In some surprising news, Caves and Cliffs part two is coming out at the end of the month on November 30th.

This update has been teased for quite a while and we have received tonnes of updates, prereleases and small things to try out. Clearly, the team have been listening to fan feedback.

What comes in Minecraft 1.18?

This changes the way terrain works, the way that caves are structured and adds some brand new items.

If you're looking for an excuse to go exploring into the mines of Minecraft again, this is a great reason to do so.

What's missing?

In the official blog post for Caves and Cliffs part two, the team revealed that some features will be missing from this release. They have been held back to launch in a future update. Here is their statement on it:

You may have noticed that a few items were missing from the list of new stuff, namely archeology, bundles, and goat horns. This was not just because I couldn’t come up with something quippy to write about them, because I totally could. Archeology? I can dig it! See? Gold. No, these features have been put on hold.
They have not been cancelled, we just had to put them on the backburner for now. While they won’t be in the Wild Update, they are going to come to Minecraft in the future when we’re able to add them in the best possible way. Until then, you have a bunch of mountains to climb and caves to dive into. That’s going to take some time, especially if you navigate like I do – minimal planning, maximum confidence.
