The LoL Season 14 is almost here and it will bring some massive changes to the game. New items will be introduced, Summoners Rift will undergo some changes, and even a new champion is arriving.

Patch 13.24 will be the last patch of 2023, and the last one before all those changes are implemented. This patch focuses mainly on improving champions in a way that the item changes that will be introduced in the game don't affect them too much.

Many champions got a buff, others adjusted, and some even got nerfed. So, let's find out everything about Patch 13.14!

Patch 13.24 release date

Patch 13.24, the last LoL patch of 2023, went live on 6 December, at around 15pm PT/17am GMT. However, the patch was first released on PBE, so that players could test it, and developers could make small alterations.

As mentioned above, this patch introduced many champion changes, and it even brought a new champion with it. This champion is called Hwei and it went live at the same time the patch did.

Now, let's take a look at all the champion changes Patch 13.24 introduced.

You get a buff, you get a buff, and you also get a buff!

There are a plethora of champions who got a buff in Patch 13.24. This is the patch with the most champion buffs in recent memory, as an impressive total of 11 champions received a buff.

Those champions are Azir, Braum, Galio, Gragas, K'Sante, Leona, Lucian, Mordekaiser, Pantheon, Qiyana, Vel'Koz, and Zeri.

Champions such as Braum, Lucian, and Galio desperately needed to get a buff, as they have been some of the weakest champions in the game for quite some time. However, Azir and K'Sante buffs come as a surprise as they are still quite strong.

When it comes to the actual changes, they are as follows:

  • Azir W damage increased from 50-100 to 50-118.
  • Galio Q cooldown reduced from 12/11.5/11/10.5/10 to 12/11/10/9/8 seconds.
  • Lucian E cooldown reduced from 22/20/18/16/14 to 19/17.75/16.5/15.25/14 seconds.
  • Braum's mana regen increased to 7 per second, and his ultimate knock-up duration was increased to 0.6 seconds.
  • Gragas passive cooldown reduced from 12 seconds to 12/10/8/6 seconds.
  • Leona W bonus armor increased from 20/25/30/35/40 to 20/27.5/35/42.5/50. Bonus magic resistance increased to 20/27.5/35/42.5/50, and R damage increased to 150/225/300 (+80% AP).
  • K'Sante W mana reduced from 60/65/70/75/80 to 40/45/50/55/60 seconds, and the W ratio increased to 50% in bonus armor and 50% in bonus magic resistance.
  • Mordekaiser Q AP ration increased from 60% to 70%, and R now reveals the target at the start of the cast.
  • Qiyana base mana increased from 325 to 375, and mana growth from 50 to 60.
  • Zeri AD growth increased from 1.3 to 2, and W damage increased to 30/70/110/150/190 (+130% AD) (+25% AP).
  • Talon ranged Q resets auto-attacks.

The Zeri era is back

Among the many buffs, the Zeri one might be the most impactful. Zeri will probably become meta again after this buff, as going from 1.3 to 2 AD Growth is a huge buff. So expect to see her dominating Solo queue soon and perhaps even pro-play.

The K'Sante, Leona, and Lucian changes are also quite significant. Leona will have a stronger laning phase with these changes, and her pick rate will most likely rise.

As for Lucian, his E changes will give him more windows to be aggressive, especially in the laning phase. So we will see him climb some places in the ADC tier list.

Some champions also got nerfed, so let's take a look at them.

The Nerf hammer strikes again!

As is the case in almost every LoL patch, champions who have been dominating Summoners Rift got nerfed. This time, the Nerf hammer struck Briar and Ivern, who have been the kings of the jungle for quite some time.

It's the second patch in a row that Briar has received a nerf, but it's somewhat deserved. Briar has one of the highest win rates in the jungle role, while also being one of the most banned champions in the game.

Despite the nerfs Briar got in patch 13.22, the champion was still extremely strong, so it's natural to see her get nerfed again. However, the nerfs Briar received in this patch are very impactful.

Briar attack speed ratio was surprisingly increased from 644 to 669, but her armor was reduced from 32 to 30. Her Q damage was decreased from 60-200 to 60-180, and her W attack speed was decreased from 60-120% to 55-115%.

Furthermore, Briar E damage reduction was decreased from 40% to 35%, her healing decreased to 9/13% of maximum health, and her ultimate base AD ratio was decreased from +75% to +50%, while her ultimate AP ratio was slightly increased from +110% to 120%. We just hope Riot Games doesn't end up nerfing her to the ground.

When it comes to Ivern, LoL developer Matt Leung-Harrison said that Ivern had "been strong for a while and become a bit stale", so they decided to tune him down a little. To do that, they reduced Ivern base health from 655 to 630, and hisĀ E slow from 50/55/60/65/70% to 45/50/55/60/65%.
